I have a 3 bike bolt it on in my toy hauler. I'm very happy with it. Holds the bikes solid and I can yank it out to make room in the hauler when I get to my destination in minutes. They have fantastic customer service too. Really happy you went this this system because it means I made a good choice as well!

They do a great job

Hey Morgan you might want to bolt those triangle plates down with reinforcing plates under the floor. If you get in an accident that 750 lbs of motorcycles are going to join you in the front seat. Something to think about.
@highlandcycles4 жыл бұрын
I am thinking about that for sure. The guys who make it don’t call for that. I haven’t talked to or seen anything about a crash scenario yet. Also there is a row of seats between the bikes and the front and soon enough there will be a wall.

That will be a really cool rig once you're done. Check out the E trak products, they are very versatile to, DC cargo is a good place to look. Are you going to park the van "down by the river!" LOL

have you thought about putting a wall up between bikes and seats? Helps keep the gas smell down and keeping the passenger side warmer in the winter!
@rglce254 жыл бұрын
He mentioned that

Like Rod said, I mentioned that. I am definitely putting a wall in eventually

Love it! Does the van have carbon fiber wall liner?
@highlandcycles4 жыл бұрын
It’s not carbon. It’s a plastic thing. Pretty cool

I’ll have to check that out. My biggest thing is that it has to be a family mover as well.

Should have painted the edges on the holes drilled for the D-rings. that fresh steel will rust for sure. May void any warranty, if you have any issues with rust.
@highlandcycles4 жыл бұрын
That is a good point. I didn’t think of that. I can hit them from underneath. Also, fortunately I live in a place where things don’t really rust. It’s so dry here

@@highlandcycles good point. Things Rust overnight here in the Rust Belt here in Ohio.

Are those tire Stops upside down should the Little adjustable knob be on the bottom like the Tiedown hooks ?🤷🏻
@highlandcycles4 жыл бұрын
I had them the other way but I like how the straps run with them upside down better and it doesn’t matter structurally

do you have to have the extended wheel base model for this build? is that extra space at the back behind the bikes necessary? would regular wheel base work?
@highlandcycles3 жыл бұрын
The normal length would work fine. I have extra room which I use for tool box and other stuff.
@jeffelmore72504 жыл бұрын
What are your plans for the all important.... Tools and some bench space?
@highlandcycles4 жыл бұрын
Just got a tool box for the back. Will be installing after I get the insulation in

You've inspired me to buy a Ford Transit and Bolt It On system, it looks like the J hooks were too long initially, did they send you shorter J hooks? What J hooks should I ask for when ordering from Bolt It On for my Transit?
@highlandcycles3 жыл бұрын
They were too long because I used them on the d rings that were mounted to the wall but they were meant for d rings mounted in the floor. I ended up putting D rings in the floor to move the system forward and they work perfectly.
