Great job again Baz, seeing as you are doing so many of these, you could get a piece of Perspex and drill out your template for your timing cover bolts, just something a bit more permanent. Laser will probably bring one out!. I'm the same when it comes to putting my tools away after a job, I need to confirm I have them all. One question, the old belt looked like it had wandered on the cam pulleys towards the timing cover end, was that the "natural" position or had you moved it? (about 5:45 into the video)

Ford Motor Company’s recall of the 2016-2022 Ford EcoSport and Focus 1.0L engines has put owners in a difficult position. Their cars have defective parts that could potentially ruin the engine, but the replacement parts will not be available for at least six months. According to the recall, “the oil-drive belt tensioner arm may fracture or separate, causing a loss of vehicle power and power braking assist, increasing the risk of a crash.” Several plaintiffs filed a class action lawsuit in June 2023 alleging “the defect presents a serious safety hazard because it can cause catastrophic engine failure without warning while driving, lost motive power, and/or sudden limp mode activation, increasing the likelihood of a collision.

@tonymcnamara93684 ай бұрын
Why are manufacturers making life so difficult? Because these aren't supposed to be repaired! They're designed to fail at low mileage, this way, people have to buy a new car. It's great for turnover, but not for the consumer. Imagine an engine that fails within five years, or less. 🤔
@aficio6984 ай бұрын
Agree and VW have now changed d belt replacement specification. They r now saying d belt is 4d lifetime of d engine, from 80k/5years. Wat nonsense.

Just shows how much the likes of Ford are skimping on engine design and manufacture causing such basic failures on relatively low mileage vehicles. Wet belt drives on oil pumps and cams drives, are they for real or just treat their customers with utter contempt Ford are a disgrace they do not deserve our business

Why do these belts keep failing ? Is it a failure to change and use the correct oil regularly or is it just a crap design they supposed to last the life of the engine what ford don’t say is the life of the engine is about 60000😂
