Benz just announced a 2.0L Turbo with over 400HP and almost 400 ft lbs of Torque, most powerful production car 4 cyl so far! With great mpg, that 2.0L is the magic size for most uses..amazing The 2.0L is the most manufactured engine size in the world, from all makers. My VW GTI 2.0L turbo is great, latest edition, has improved upper end cooling, to try and cut down on carbon buildup, so far it's working 79,000 fun miles, not a blip of trouble...always getting 31+ mpg AND got 35.1 recently on a long cruise non stopping, best ever with well over 70,000 miles!! Great stuff, I always use at least 91-93 Octane, min is 91 required by VW for that engine..top tier BP most of teh time as it's the cheapest around here, when away I use WaWa or other brands, never had a problem

They are a popular manufacturer I had driven fords before they are great but i miss their z tec engines and duratec engines they are great sold engines. The ecoblue engines are nice too. keep up the ICE alive ford! all the best!

Use top tier fuel only to avoid carbon issues in older eco boost engines. USA has too many crappy fuel stations everywhere. Avoid them at all cost . Ethanol is not your friend either. It has 40% less power than regular petrol. Love your vehicle not the few pennies you are saving at the pump.

Overall good interessting technology. But please change the 1.0 Ecoboost 3 cylinder to a four cylinder engine. It would run much smoother and needs only 0,2l/100km more fuel than the 3 cylinder engine. VW EA211 1.2 TSI (4 cylinder) do run better than the Ecoboost, with the same fuel consumption.
Thats the problem isn't it. All we can really do is use higher quality fuel, and try to keep gas tank at above quarter tank.
@captainquinnmillspaugh60195 жыл бұрын
Epi Espinoza it’s not the exhaust valve that get carbon deposits, it’s the intake valve(s). With port injection the fuel would clean the intake valve on opening, but now with the fuel being injected directly, the intake valve is forming deposits. This can be rectified with a non-vented oil catch can system.
@dom38275 жыл бұрын
EVERY direct injection engine has this problem. That is not a ford specific problem. VW TFSI engines are most affected by this problem according to german car mechanics.

@Ocastia4 жыл бұрын
@@jacquesduplessis8944 a torque converter will use a bit more fuel than a Dual Clutch transmission, but 14L is way too much for example an Audi SQ5 (2019) Whit a 2.5L Turbo V6 and torque converter transmission uses around 9-11L of fuel, so that is way too much for a 1L Ecoboost Inline 3 or 4 you should expect 5-8L unless you really floor it. Are you by any chance going by the indicator in the gage cluster? Because if that is set to display the momentarily fuel usage it might display that much when accelerating, otherwise I'd check if the turbocharger or injection system is damaged.

@janbojarski0044255 жыл бұрын
1:13 ok now I hear some hardcore bullshit. Since when is any turbocharger even working at low end? no matter how small you make it, there is still lag, and in reality, if you compare a turboed engine's power and torque, at the rpm at which the turbo doesn't operate, to the NA version of the same engine, the NA will have higher torque and power, of course that is just the bottom end rpm, but isn't that where you claim to increase the torque by adding a turbo?
@Ocastia4 жыл бұрын
The size of the turbo isn't that important (Shure smaller is better because of the lower mass) , however the angle of the fins inside the turbine and compressor are much more important, however yes there will always be a bit of turbo lag, even Whit VTG Turbos (Wich most gasoline Ecoboost engines don't seem to use) however you can reduce the lag by lowering the max RPM increasing the Idle RPM setting the software to accelerate much more aggressive than what it should based on the position of the accelerator and by injecting and igniting fuel when the exit valves are open, and that in combination with the Variable Valve timing and Valve travel does end up making those engines feel very responsive and powerful. And Ford never said that the engine wouldn't have any lag, just that it has minimal lag and increased torque over a Naturally Aspirated engine Whit the same displacement both are correct, and them saying that the turbo is optimized for low end torque isn't wrong either, unlike for example the Nissan GTR wich Takes 7seconds to spool up those massive turbos.

I'd rather drive a car that has 15mpg, will need an oil change every 6k miles and will last 1'000'000 miles rather than having a 1L 200hp ecoturbogreenskyactivhomohalal engine that has longlife oil lasting 24k miles or whatnot and will need a full rebuild after 100'000 miles. But hey, that's just my opinion, (and every other car passionate's). and I don't whine about it on Ford's video because I hate Ford, quite the opposite actually, I always loved Fords, it's just what you guys do with this amazing make right now makes me want to cry, I'm fine with having a hybrid, downsized, or electric as an option, what I don't want is having it forced in without an option of something I would like.

This is the biggest screw up Ford made during it's existence, what kind of engineering department comes up with and open deck design with cooling slits between cylinders? All the 1.0 , 1.5 and 1.6 ecoboost at work failed before 80K miles. I had the 1.6 VCT before that, unbreakable, even with the flawed piston nock at TDC. 2.0 N/A engine is the best in MK3, but only in a handfull of countries, based on Mazda L series, also in Volvo V50.
