Handy vid I am just working on the brakes and bull pinion at the moment on my 1955 Major. Is yours a Major, Power or Super? Having to make my own parts where not available. Rebuilt the engine and now working on back end. All filmed and on my KZbin channel. Made a new brake cross shaft but the new seals are to big to seal. 27.8mm id. Going to enlarge the shaft where the seals are. This is year 2 working on it, probly still be working on it in year 3 lol M

The Major back end never. Give me any problems in 40 years. As long as you don't move with the handbrake on

Very cool video thanks for making it, just got a 1958 power major, having some clutch issues, have you had to work on yours yet?
@bigfletch8705 жыл бұрын
Hi David, thanks it was quite interesting and I thought not many people would have seen that view before. I put a new friction plate in mine... mines only a single clutch, is yours live drive?
@unsaltedlife59985 жыл бұрын
bigfletch870 yes it’s a double clutch
@unsaltedlife59985 жыл бұрын
I figured out what it is I think it’s not a clutch problem it’s not going into high or low gear lever moves but not the rod going into the trans case. Or could be the nut on the pulley drive gear lame lose

pretty bad idea as there wasn't any bolts holding the diff carrier in could easily of pushed them out and dropped the diff
@bigfletch8708 жыл бұрын
No not at all, the half shafts and then the bull gears have to be removed 1st before the diff carrier can be removed! They're also press fitted in and take quite a bit of removing, just thought it would show the internal workings for others to see.

Just came across this video. Rather a waste of time for those expecting to learn something apart from a lump of metal spinning round while covered with oil. The fact that the drive pinions were removed would not be apparent to those people who would gain nothing from watching.
