THANK YOU! I used the procedures in this video to replace the mount on my 05 Ford Escape 3.0. My Haynes manual was surprisingly light on this subject. $80 part, 30 minutes of time, and no more loud vibration at idle! I noticed an improvement as soon as I started the engine.

I did this on my 2010 Fusion 2.5 and it helped. I used the Duralast one from Autozone and it works fine. I noticed a big difference when accelerating and also the vibrating when I shift into Drive or Reverse. I do still have issues but with the transmission mount and torque strut mount which I will tackle next, they also can cause unusual noises and vibrations.

i just today replace the front motor mount on my 2006 mazda tribute... my radiator fluid bottle is a lot smaller so i did not have to remove it... removed the nuts and the large bolt and removed the bad mount and installed the new motor mount... don't forget to support the motor with a jack and a 2x4... took me about 1 hour to do the replacement... now the car has no more vibration... always check the front motor mount first as this mount is most likely causing your vibration.

It's time to change the mounts on my 07 3.0L Fusion. Both motor ones are shot. I've been reading that ford changed the passenger side mount design, and made it a little shorter. Because of that, we're supposed to buy a new bracket from the dealer to compensate for it. Have you heard of this? Is the bracket they're talking about, the aluminum one from the mount to the engine, or the bracket from the mount to the body? almost all the 3rd party mounts available online already have the body to mount bracket. Thanks.

Never noticed this before, but on this motor mount on my car, the back bolt seems to be sheered off, and the front bolt is not screwed down all the way. And that rubber isolator thing on the mount is not there at all either....guess I know where the noise is. Not sure what Im gonna do about the sheered bolt yet.

There is no info or video on 2006 ford fusion awd. The steering and engine shake in drive at complete stop. Also it act like its not getting enough fuel. Replaced fuel pump and sock, O2 sensors and the engine mounts are good. No fuses out or bad for some reason it has two catalytic converters on it in a line back to wake practically put together.thinking of cutting one off and just replace pipe. Tried to check fuel pressure on rail, it reads nothing at all but I change spark plugs and checked fuel injectors which are fine. When checking I did a test and omg the rail is getting plenty of gas sent to it and yes I hooked up the test correctly. And used it on different vehicle to see it tester worked right it does. Some sensors or the CPU or whatever is telling the car hey you don't need as much fuel even though it does

Does the frame where bolts for the mount screw in, have threaded holes or are they welded nuts on the inside of the frame rail? The dealer I bought the car from agreed to replace the front engine timing cover gasket, requiring removal of the mount. The other day I went to change the mount and discovered they had broken the bolts and welded the mount to the frame. Unbelievable! They claim the welded bolt inside the frame broke and they had no other choice, which is total BS! Just curious how the frame is threaded? They are either going to fix it correctly, or we're going to court! Thanks for posting the video.

I have that noise on my 2014 Ford Fusion AWD 2.0 liter. Its behind the firewall close to the transmission. I can only here it when the car is in drive and when the doors are closed. I placed the ebrake on to see if I can find the area where the noise is coming from but found that it is mostly heard underneath the car near the transmission. I don't have a lift to go to any longer (Not on a military base to go to a auto hobby shop) to see where the noise is coming from. I only notice this noise after taking it to the same Ford dealership after a oil change and transmission jerking problem. I have also went back to them to get the noise checked and they have eliminated my trust in them to get it fixed. Could it be just what is within this video or something major? I know you may not be able to diagnose it but I would appreciate the help.

Great videos! Thank you for posting them I have a 2010 2.3l fusion, and I have had problems with the engine vibrating a lot at idle with the transmission in gear. When in motion or in neutral, the vibration is gone. My mechanic's instructor tells me it's the mounts, but I've already changed the engine mount (which is identical to the one in this video) and the horizontal one (shaped like a dog's bone); but the vibration is still there, though decreased. Would you recommend to change the gearbox mount? it's a lot harder because it's under the battery... Thanks!!!
@FordTechMakuloco10 жыл бұрын
Not common no, I would go through a engine neutralizing before going any further. Powertrain/Drivetrain Mount Neutralizing NOTE: Refer to the appropriate section and procedure for special instructions on loosening and tightening mount fasteners. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Section 100-02. Loosen, but do not remove, the powertrain/drivetrain mount fasteners. Lower the vehicle. NOTICE: Do not twist or strain the powertrain/drivetrain mounts or damage to the mounts may occur. Start the vehicle and move it in forward 0.6-1.2 m (2-4 ft). Then move the vehicle in reverse the same distance. Raise and support the vehicle. Tighten the powertrain/drivetrain mount fasteners. Lower the vehicle. Test the system for normal operation.

Just want to say thank you for posting this. I replaced this mount today on my 2010 Fusion 3.0L which has had a rough idle that the dealer said was probably due to this engine mount being worn. After replacement, it does seem better although I'm not sure if one of the trans mounts may need to be replaced as well. Not sure I would have attempted this without seeing your complete detail first. The mount I removed was not nearly as loose as the one you took out but it had obviously collapsed down a bit compared to the new part.Update: I've had this new mount in my Fusion for a few days and although it seems better than it was, there is still a vibration at idle with foot on brake and in Drive. Wondering if I need to go back and follow procedures to "neutralize" the mount. Or does this just mean one of the other mounts needs to be replaced?
@AustinWilhite5 жыл бұрын
Sum Guy Apparently fusions have a lot of vibration at idle. I replaced all the mounts, cleaned the throttle body and mass airflow sensor, and replaced the plugs, and I still have considerable vibrations at idle. I took it to the dealership, and they said it was normal.

I don't recollect that exact bolt, but I've got a STUCK o2 sensor that just will not come out! I've already broke both my o2 sensor sockets and a 22mm end wrench! I'll let ya know how well it works, it may be well worth a try on that bolt!

@dondale688 жыл бұрын
That 'CRC Freeze Off' works wonders (autozone p/n 05002 for $6.29) Drill a small (1/8) hole in the bolt, spray it with the freeze off, use a very sharp drill bit to 'grab' and spin the bolt back down into the fender, may come off the drill bit may have to sacrifice the drill bit, if it falls out good or you may have to let the bolt ride around down in the fender. Take a tap and some anti seize and really clean that hole. I think another bolt 'Grade 8' should be fine, you can pick them up at any auto store
