Foreign domestic workers in Singapore

Foreign domestic workers have been in our midst for the longest time but have been making headlines for all the wrong reasons lately. They have even become the subject of an online petition over a perceived drop in maid standards. Is the spate of negative publicity relating to maids a symptom of underlying issues, such as neglect of their welfare?

When you meet this type of employer. Nasty and mean....put them in bad boss category. Talk to your fellow domestic helper and your Agency. Speak to them so they know what's going on.

I have high respect for Foreign Domestic Worker. I had a good one that my family love he soo much we sponsored her for English school ( Treated her like family ) ( even visited her home back in her home country ) She did a great job for us without trouble. However. There are cases where maids *fool around and then they ask to be sent home* Who is paying that?

Thank you for making such videos, however maybe u shud also try to make similar videos from another angle, from the employers’ perspective…. Employers have to work extra hard to pay off the maid’s salary….n from wat I see, I can comprehend why some employers did tat in the video…like eating separately etc…. I once treated my brother’s maid as part of the family….when we go Tung Lok for celebration, we included her etc….when ta Bao from old airport road, we even included hers…never once short changed her….but yet 2 different maids started to create stories n conned my parents money off….1st one is Indo maid, best part, she flirts with a Bangladeshi….2nd 1, who is the current 1, cheated my parents $$$ too, it’s 1 largy best, even to the point of my dad’s makan $$$, n now he’s so underweight and my dad is fighting a cancer n just recovering from a heart attack 😤we r not rich ppl, but yet these ppl exploit us like this, where r our justice?…n bcos of her laziness, using hp during working hours, ignoring our parents call for help…we need to engage a 2nd 1 to do the current maid’s job…how? When employers get bullied, where can we turn to?
