That's right! The Philippines have 180+ local languages (Filipino is the official language). So it's really nice to hear Alamat incorporating 7 different local languages (Tagalog, Ilokano, Bicolano, Waray-Waray, Kapampangan, Hiligaynon & Bisaya) and representing them in the mainstream media. FYI, here in the Philippines, many people have some stereotypes regarding other native languages when it comes to accents and pronunciation. Like for example, when a non-Tagalog speaker mispronounced a tagalog word, they will be made fun of. So it's nice that Alamat is normalizing diversity in a Tagalog and English-centric music industry.

They get it. ALAMAT is different and fresh. They don't conform; they create something new. I also like the discussion on 'kasmala' because that's the magic of the video and the song. After watching the MV, you would really like to dig deeper. Actually, what I felt when I first learned about ALAMAT was the same feeling I had when I encountered SB19. They just have this magic na sobrang genuine nila at mararamdaman mo 'yung parang hindi sila ganun kataas, especially 'pag nanonood ng vlogs.

ALAMAT is such a one-of-a-kind group. Instead of mimicking what Kpop has already done, they mix distinctly Filipino elements in it to make it our own. Not only are they a full package of vocals, dance, and visuals, but their group’s message is commendable. Philippines can be a xenophilic country at times, so ALAMAT’s message of getting more in touch with our own Filipino identity is just… chef’s kiss. I love them so much. They need more recognition.

Alamat stands out, hands down. I've only just discovered them two months ago, and everything they said about Alamat has also been my thoughts. Each member of Alamat stands out already and could easily go solo, but they trained only for nine months? (didn't know this) but they look and sound so good together, dressed our very own tribal threads, singing seven of our beautiful languages. They didn't come out looking and sounding 'perfect' for pop standards, but they sounded the most authentic and looked the most aesthetically pleasing out of the three. That's the great thing about evolution and growth. You do not rush true artistry. This group is already one of a kind. I can't imagine their next album. One said that Alamat sounded kpop, but as someone who does not listen to kpop, for me, they sound western pop, mixed with OPM, so it's nice to know that Alamat did incorporate many styles into their music and made it their own by using that Filipino flare and fashion, and SWAG. They are the avante garde of PPop and they're definitely top on my list right now!

KPop is successful because they mastered their branding and that includes their costumes and overall styling, for another country’s Pop music to prosper they need to really study their own Image direction, which should not make them look like KPop, that’s the challenge. @@junefeldoncila7343 okay po ang live vocals nila, pero nagsstruggle pa rin yung ilan sa live singing while dancing. 😊 Ang laki na po ng improvements nila. Yun naman pa yung plan ng management, parang jpop style po na maggrow yung group with the fans. 1 year pa lang po ang nakalipas after nilang mag officially train. Pero pag panuorin mo po mga live vocals nila ang gaganda po ng boses nila. Endurance na lang po ang kelangan nila ipractice pa. 😊😘

you know what's sad is that these idols promotions are very limited because of network exclusivity. so they mostly rely on social media 90% of the time. but the good thing is that our country is a socmed country so its an advantage.

I agree with the British guy Henry. BGYO and BINI needs to have more songs in their Language! It's really really tiring to listen in English language tbh lol I want some songs in other languages as well just like Alamat. They did pretty well! I like the concept and the message of the song although BGYO and BINI's songs are quite cool and catchy, I would still prefer something which is completely in Filipino. Just a thought though. My opinion
