Since Russia invaded Ukraine a year ago, foreign volunteers have been pouring into the country to help the Ukrainians resist the Russians.
Kyiv has gotten a lot of weapons from NATO countries, but Ukraine's forces also need basic stuff like personal protective equipment or training for soldiers. The volunteers do whatever's needed.
GZERO caught up with two members of Ukraine's international legion. One of them is a former bike messenger from Germany who now operates drones. We also met an American who helps crowdsource funding from Europe.
It's not an easy life. What's more, they know they could end up dying - and say they are ready for it.

You have to fly in a plane to poland where there is a cross over in the south east. Once you get there they will service you with everything. Its not like a phone app where you sign up or a website. You have to get htere first.

not just birds, it depends on where in the world you are and time of day or night, like at night if the bugs, crickets are making noise then they haven't heard or seen anything but that don't mean someone or something like a predator isn't around. or if your on fire watch and still and silent and the bugs or animals suddenly go quiet then something just showed up.

Check the pricetag for a humvee and consider the fact that you can loose dozens of them within a week (which means you need spare parts to repair them and pay salaries to mechanics). The same goes for simple stuff as radios, drones, and even batteries for them. War is expensive. Simple as that.

Billions of dollars sent and somehow the volunteers and troops are still crowdsourcing. Lets hope the Ukrainian government takes care of their veterans better than the US

Billions are not sent directly to Ukraine. Mostly they are paid for the weapons and to the manufacturers in your own countries. And foreign funds cant be spend on military salaries etc. On top Ukraine is not as wealthy and big as russia to afford such full scale war so of cause we are lucking everything. But never the less considering everything Ukraine achieved a lot already. And we are grateful for all the help we are getting.

We have no say so where are the stinking government sends it. We have our own vets that are sleeping on the ground outside.
