Foreigner - Hot Blooded (Live At The Rainbow '78)
Available Now: mercury-studio....
Featuring the classic Foreigner line-up of Jones, Gramm, McDonald, Greenwood, Gagliardi and Elliott, this show captures the essence of a group who would go on to become one of the best-selling bands of all time.
On April 27 1978, after their self-titled debut album had spent a year in the US Top 20, rock’s conquering heroes played a sold-out show at London’s legendary music venue, the Rainbow Theatre.
Opening with 'Long, Long Way From Home', the band’s legion of fans were treated to a magnificent display of musicianship and performance, including local hit singles, 'Feels Like The First Time' and 'Cold As Ice', as well as an exclusive preview of two tracks from the upcoming ‘Double Vision’ album.
Forty years on, this definitive performance by the original band has been restored from the original film reels, remixed and remastered for this release.

Did you notice how good Lou was at chewing gum while singing? lmao Read Lou's autobiography, "Juke Box Hero: My Five Decades in Rock 'N' Roll." Good read.

Those power ballads in no way represented the Foreigner that I absolutely fell in love with when they released their self-titled debut album during my senior year of high school. To this day it's still one of my all-time favorite albums as it has so many great tunes. The three hits were Feel Like the First Time, Cold as Ice, and Long Long Way From Home but it also had other great songs such as Starrider, Headknocker, Damage Is Done, At War With the World, I Need You,etc. You need to make it a point to sit down one day and listen to it in it's entirety. It's a classic!

Foreigner in it's prime with the original members...unreal! I've heard this song 100 times and have never noticed how much Gagliardi's bass drives this song. It's very busy in the backround.

Legendary right there .... I have seen them many times in concert and it's always a good rockin show. The original lineup off the first album is one of the greatest of all time. Check out the Baby's also from the same frame of time ... they put out some killer music aslo.

Cheesy?! I feel personally attacked! 🤣😂 OMG, I LOVED the 80s so much (although Foreigner started in the 70s for me - yeah, I just skewed your demographic. 😉) Imagine being a 14/15 year old, having this song played at every party and by every garage band you followed. It was pretty fun. I followed Lou Gramm after he split from Foreigner and am a huge fan. Loved this reaction. ❤

Their “Foreigner Live” album from (I think) 1980 is ridiculously awesome. One of the greatest live albums ever. That was their peak. The version of shot Blooded on that album is 100x better than this. They improved, and were way more aggressive. Check it out.

I absolutely love the way Lou holds the high note on Damage is Done on that Live CD. Yeah, I've heard Lou sound waaay better than he does on this video. I've heard him sound way better than he does on their Live at Deer Creek concert video as well.

I'm 50 and I'm sad that you didn't get to hear this when it was new. Fun fact: they are still touring and making music. The original lead singer couldn't sing anymore and he hand picked his replacement. Your vids are cool.
@hondaphan4172
@hondaphan4172 7 ай бұрын
Lou had NOTHING to do with picking Kelly as his replacement. In fact, if you've seen interviews with Lou it's clear he's not particularly fond of him for obvious reasons. The only new music the new lineup has released was the CD named Can't Slow Down and it's rather pedestrian and soft, IMO. I'm not a hater as I saw the new lineup a handful of times between '05-'07 when Jason Bonham was on drums and Mick was onstage for every single minute of every show. Instrumentalist Tom Gimbel is no longer with the band now which is a big loss since his replacement doesn't even play sax which is totally unacceptable when it comes to Foreigner's catalog. I'm sad to see my all-time favorite band ride into the sunset without a single original member onstage. IMO, they shouldn't be touring if Mick can't be onstage for the entire show. It's nothing but a money-grab now.

@@hondaphan4172 Huh...that's news to me. I actually got that information watching an interview contemporary to them choosing the new singer. Looks like Lou and Mick's relationship took a dump over the last 8 years or so, maybe Lou can actually talk about it now. But, I agree. I went to see Yes shortly after Squire's death and there was noone left on stage from the original band and I just left. Gave the shirt to my then 20 year old daughter.
