Foreigners experience Songkran the Thai way! | Koh Chang Thailand

Songkran is one of the most important times of year for Thai people, so although we've enjoyed this crazy water festival the Foreign (or Farang) way before, we wanted to experience it the Thai way this year, so we met with our friends who own "Indie Beach" in Koh Chang for an authentic experience and to understand more about this very important New Year celebration.

While other people potray Songkran as water fight at major destination, you represent the traditional way of Songkran: staying with your love ones, going to temple for a small ceremony, and enjoy the water fight in a polite way. Im thai and the last songkran i had was when i was 14 years old. When i get older u dont enjoy the water splashing part as much. Older ppl tend to gather and have a feast. More like a home coming day.
