I really appreciate you being honest, and there is nothing wrong in saying that the place you stayed was dirty and not clean. Especially in small towns and villages, it is difficult to find clean and hygienic places. Maybe in bug cities the maintenance crew pay more attention in cleaning and maintaining a hygiene environment. You can find clean and better places in several areas and some places offer high quality services but they are more expensive.

Please don't forget to visit the north east part of India, that is the seven sisters, its so beautiful. I am addicted to the cinema of Kerala, I have seen more than 100 Malayalam films and my top 10 Malayalam films are the following: 1) Angamaly Diaries (2017) 2) Ee Maa Yau (2018) 3) Anantaram (1987) 4) Traffic (2011) 5) Guru (1997) 6) Munnariyippu (2014) 7) The Great Indian Kitchen (2021) 8) Maalik (2021) 9) Android Kunjappan ver 5.25 (2019) 10) Esthapan (1980) I even loved thrillers from Kerala like Mumbai Police (2013), Memories (2013), Drishyam (2013), Drishyam 2 (2022), Joseph (2019), Unni Mukundan and Associates (2022), Anjaam Pathira (2020). Also I saw a Kerala film called Veyilmarangal (2019) it was as good as the Korean Film Parasite (2019). Talking about Malls in Kerala there was a film called Helen (2019) where Anna Ben got stuck in a cold storage in a Mall in Muvattupuzha.

I came down from Australia and visited the places mentioned by @lostworld and must admit those places are probably some of the best destinations I have ever been too. It’s absolutely stunning and you guys will love it. Unlike the hustle and bustle of the main cities these hilly tourist destinations almost feel like you are in paradise. Also check out the northern Indian tourist spots like Ladakh, Kashmir There is so much to explore in india ! You might just end up moving there for good 😂

The varkala beach has higher natural radiation due to the black sand but all studies conducted so far has been on the lifetime impacts of the population living in some of the coastal areas (not really Varkala but some nearby places) . There's no indication that being there for a few hours or playing in the beach sand can cause any serious or long term damage. Hope Kerala treated you relatively well. It is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but presumably it will be at some point.
