The best part is entire family is enjoying that togetherness which is quite an Indian way ...Today me my daughter & son cooked green chilli pakodas and they were very yummy.... Yesterday my son cooked & wife cooked a typical local dish somewhat similar to pasta , different shape ( dont know what they call in English) and that was very very tasty...

Yes. Ram Bandhu (राम बंधू) pickles and spices are very good. Very popular in Maharashtra and Goa. So, you can even buy different Ram Bandhu brand spices for your cooking.

Having Appam Plate at home has an added advantage for you as you can try is Appam (popular south Indian breakfast) as well as Dal Bati (Rajastani delicacy. Bati is Rajastani version of litti and without any filling) some time as well.

One suggestion & most important tip when using Ajwain in any recipe. Please crush Ajwain by hand before putting in other ingredients. By crushing ajwain, flavour of ajwain comes out better. We indians always hand crush ajwain before adding to other ingredients. In fact, this is the most common top Grandma gives to her young grand daughter when grand daughter start learning cooking.

One more tip for making Litti, which will help in reducing oil in take in litti (as you deep fried littis). You can use Appam Plate (Appam is south Indian breakfast dish) to cook Litti. Appam Plate is made of cast iron with a heat resistant transperant lid & has eight semicircular pockets and it can be put on gas burner directly.

Once you stuff littis with sattu and shape up for frying, instead of deep frying, cook it in Appam Plate. You can grease Appam Plate with little oil or ghee and place 8 littis in same for cooking. After 5 mins of cooking on one side, you can rotate littis and cook again for 5-7 more minutes till they are nicely brown from all sides (you will have to apply additional ghee / oil when rotating littis for cooking. This will be far simpler method for making littis (But your kids will miss puris as litis are not fried).

There are many types of chillies thinner varity very spicy thicker less spicy. Kasmiri chilli powder is less spicy Byadagi and Kashmir red chilli and chilli poder are less spicy

Steam Sattu Litti in IDLI Steamer, then fry. Make Momos Chutney at Home. Then Eat Steamed Fried Litti with Momos Chutney. ( ** Fusion of Indian Litti & Chinese Momos )
