I just bought a 04 forester. I’m looking to drop it and install the cat back turboXS but I’m not sure if it will fit in the XS model. I’m also trying to learn to the labor myself. That’s why I ask. I’m new to this whole car thing.

Gabe Villa Hello Gabe. Fitment wise I would check out the TurboXS website on the model you plan to by. They should have a fitment chart to clear things up. Labor wise, fairly ez if not rusty lol. Three main things, be prepared to buy bolts if it didnt come with it. The pipe width is bigger from OEM. If you plan to not change the up pipe, make sure to get exhaust adapter , example 2” to 3”. Last thing is exhaust gaskets.

Eh for me it is kinda loud enough for me to feel it might bother next door neighbors, if living in a townhouse. Im think of seeing about putting the Oem resonator back on.

Are they easy to install figured its only the tips that are getting replaced instead of the entire exaust system

Yes pretty much. Just make sure to determine if you need adapter or not do to changes in exhaust pipe size.

Did you keep the middle muffler after cat or it is a straight pipe to rear muffler?

Its straight with the turboxs midpipe after the cat.

@@konventionalkar5158 great, so basically mid muffler is really not needed, it is not noisier only got that sweet boxer purring. With some high flow catted downpipe you get the right thing and still staying legal.

Maker to get an exhaust adapter, there is a size difference in pipes. Oem vs turboxs

@@konventionalkar5158 you also need a divorced plate at turbo to downpipe joint in order to separate gasses from turbo and from vastegate. This is the first restriction in the system and you will notice a big difference when you do it.
