Was wondering why I'd seen a few people getting custom ones made up. Hope you sort it. Definitely keep the starlet stuff coming 👍
@Camp_Dogs4 жыл бұрын
I originally knew that was because the 4efte flywheel had a larger disc on the clutch plate... more surface area for grip in other words. I am completely stumped now as I never had a 5efe flywheel to begin with, but now none of my 4e stuff fits.... however the new flywheel I ordered suits a 4efe, ive already bought them before and used them for 5e haha who knows!!! thanks for watching

So strange. Anytime, your channels going to take off with out of the box content like the twin. Be good to see That k series 31 sometime or the little itb'd 82 again 👍

Some N/A 4efe engines came with 4EFTE cranks in them like mine did. Winning !!

I think the flywheel can simply be redrilled to suit the different hole pattern of the different crank. The center bore will be the same size so that is what will be dictating the balance of the whole rotating assembly. Easy as. 👍🏼👍🏼

I uses a 5e Crank and a 5e fly wheel The 5e flywheel can be re faced to accommodate the 4efte 212 mm clutch. I then had the machine shop redrill the 4efte pressure bolt pattern onto the 5e flywheel
@Camp_Dogs4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info Dave, however I dont really want to re drill any of the clutch components as I plan to rev this thing to almost 9k and over 400whp. I ended up getting a new chromoly flywheel anyway, problem solved 😀
@peterstoyanov78974 жыл бұрын
I'm confused. all I understand is that the 4e na flywheel doesn't fit on the 5e crank and the 5e flywheel doesn't fit it either. But the 4e turbo flywheel fits perfectly

Definitely not a dodgy bros workshop😁

better than those clean workshops that never use the tools :P

had the same on mine, just drill the flywheel on the drillpress

check what model cars the cranks came from...
@peterstoyanov78974 жыл бұрын
It doesn't really matter where it came from cuz they're all the same engine
@andrew1977au4 жыл бұрын
@@peterstoyanov7897 in this case it does matter because obviously somethibg is different, I have seen different bolt patterens on the same engines from different models. So yeah its relivent

Hey Matt, can I use the 200mm flywheel (4e and 5e n/a) on a turbo 5e? I have a spare 4efte flywheel but the holes don’t match up. So will the smaller 5e flywheel handle power?
@Richardc90524 жыл бұрын
4efte and 4efe crank/fly bolt patterns are the same. Only the 5e is different. The actual friction surface diameter is the same (200mm) between the 4efe and the 5e. The 4efte is 212mm. So. A 4efe clutch kit will fit a 5e flywheel and visa versa but a 4e flywheel, wether Fe or fte won't fit a 5e.
@andrewrigg49054 жыл бұрын
Yes agree with you there.
@garyreilly20764 жыл бұрын
Just drill the flywheel between the 4E stud pattern, plenty of meat, I've done this on all my ORC clutch kits with no issues
@GsAutos3 жыл бұрын
I ordered the same flywheel for my build and ran into the same issue. There was enough meat to drill new holes, although it doesn’t quite mesh with starter motor, but still does the job.

what?

I brought the same flywheel and it doesn't fit na cranks, they definitely cocked up there listing.
@Camp_Dogs4 жыл бұрын
Yep that's exactly right, but it fits 5e cranks which aren't 4e lol

I don’t understand what the problem is, information is known. 4E(2E) / 5E(3) PCD are different, 4E (NA) - 200 mm working dia, 4EFTE 212 mm. 5EFE - 200 mm but 4WD version 5EFE and old 3E - 212 mm. If you check AASCO web site you will see 200 mm and 212 mm version flywheel for 5E engine.
@Theeclipseeee4 жыл бұрын
@@OgierAU Invalid information. Any 3E with a 212 mm flywheel and 4E version 5E with a 212 mm flywheel. I have a 212 mm flywheel with a 3E carburetor from Carina VAN ET176V

Not much point revving any harder than that on a stock gearbox, they hate shifting at that rpm as it is...
