That kid got screwed on the strength test. It came down to whose tip was stronger and Chris's tip never even made contact with the wood since it went in between. Not a fair test at all IMO.

worst part about this is how evenly matched it was and how well he took his defeat. I'd prefer to be like him though, somehow if he manages to maintain such a positive outlook on the result of the outcome of this contest, he'll get much better than people who actually won.

@@agakath Honestly? the second one split the target in half. look at 6:09 and tell me where the gap is? it didn't exist. the second weapon sunk deep and almost broke the target completely.

Yes!! Love this show! Forged in Fire…I’ve never missed an episode in 7 seasons!! Hey producers…how about an episode (or more) of first timers (viewers) that want to try their hand. Maybe let the judges offer suggestions or tips but still keep it real (as in within the parameters of the show design). That would be fun!

@@HaltoxTV You have missed the point. The wood offers no resistance thus does not offer any valuable test of strength. Wood splits easily when impacted by a narrow edge on the endgrain, this will lessen the impact and not be difficult for the weapon the pass.

@@reachingvalhalla5096 Not at all. Take your knife stick between two pieces of wood all the way to the hilt and flex it back and forth. Now stick the blade into the wood as far as you can and do the same thing. Makes a big difference.

I don't know - this is the first time watching a blacksmiter (Zane) and feel like I am watching a cooking show and not smithing - with all the oven, waiting time, machinery and whatnot. Also - 8:28 - the whole body is cut, pentrated and disemboweled, but we can't have it without its wig 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂😋😋

Why don't the judge just charge the wooden wall themselves? Shooting with compressed air is much less damaging, less energy to actually test the spears' strength

What would one who uses a Spontoon in battle be called? I know other weapon users tend to have names, like Pikemen, Axeman, Cannoneer, Halberdier, Longswordsman, Arbalester, etc. Would it be Spontooner? Spontoonier? Spontoonmen? Spontoonist? Google has turned up nothing! And I'm sure there's a better name than "Sergeant".

I don’t understand the order of the tests. The keeeel test seems like it should be last. First, is it well made and sharp (cut); second, is it strong enough; and then third, given all the previous damage and stress it may have sustained, is it fit for battle? By establishing that “it will keeeel” first, the other tests seem redundant. Or maybe that’s just me…?

Because it's all about the blade keeping it's edge after being used, a well made blade will do that.

Do you guys ever heard about "Dheu" (Bengali word "Dheu". "Wave" in English) ? Curved like wave in the sharp edge, so it's called "Dheu" in Bangladesh. Bangladeshi's or any other Muslim majority country use this weapon to slaughting big animals like cow, buffalo, camel. This weapon designed by unknown and also it got unknown using time and date. Some people say This weapon start using when Muslims got permission that "you can slaughter halal animal's to slaughting in the halal way & also eat in the halal way" after that this weapon made for smooth cut to the animal's throat. That's that I thought and not to mention the "wood wall" Strength Test on the 2nd spear was invalid because it went between the walls were the first hit dead on and took glinting. How do we know that 2nd spear wouldn't have the same damage if it hit right? 96% of the time I usually agree with most test and assessments but from the 2nd test not adequately testing the 2nd spear and to me it looked like he did less slashing damage on the redcoat and it looks as if it just cut the coat before he started stabbing it.
