I think I have hypertonic pelvic floor syndrome! I’m feeling tightness on my right side of my perineum. A few weeks ago it felt like I was sitting on a rock, all on my right side.

Hi Grish Patel, thanks for the comment. It's best to discuss this with your primary doctor as they will know your situation the best. They might recommend Kegels for you

I understand that feeling. Through a botched prostate biopsy that sent blood clots through my body and into sepsis shock close to dying. Two weeks in hospital where the temporay catheter couldn't be used due to blood clots in the way. Foley catheter was used instead and could see the blood clots coming out. Eventually was released with catheter and then it was removed a week later. I was up like 20 times in the night urinating due to the body being used to the catheter doing the work. It took a really long time to get it down to twice a night. It's been two months since released from hospital and expect many more months yet before I can go to bed in the raw again. So be patient and hopefully , by checking some of Dr Eric's videos , you will see a change. All the best!

eric should i use a big big training baloon to sit on instead of a chair...thanks
@DrEricLeckie Жыл бұрын
Good question Richard, I prefer the chair as a training balloon causes instability and can result in the over tightening of your pelvic floor muscles causing you another problem. Safest bet- sit on a normal chair but set an alarm every hour to stand and stretch.

Can working out (specifically legs) make the pelvic floor sore?
@DrEricLeckie8 ай бұрын
It can! especially if your doing the seat adductor machine. Try adding in some pelvic floor stretches into your routine if the soreness persists.

What does cycling do for the pelvic floor muscles?
@DrEricLeckie Жыл бұрын
In my opinion, cycling is going to tighten up your pelvic floor due to the amount of time you spend in the saddle and the position of the saddle under your perineum (I'm also a cyclist). If you're an avid cyclist, try some pelvic floor stretching. I'v made a video on it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/infImamorpeHjKMsi=wonQgyQ0AOxPY4q3

@DrEricLeckie already did. Thank you so much. If you only knew how much you have helped me already. I have studied every video related to me and wrote down step by step and then made a proper schedule, being careful not to overdo it. After 7 days, I am starting to see a slight improvement, so I feel very positive. A big swing from very depressed 7 days ago and a lot of that is because of you. Thank you again

Your videos seem confusing, are you saying do kegels every day, Cobra, Warrior 1, Happy Baby Strech, every day, side planks, elbow plants twice a week, aerobic exercise 3 times a week.

Dr eric i had recently watched a video on KZbin by michelle kenway in which she mentioned doing weighted squats would cause the pelvic floor to become weaker....could u please tell me if this is true..🙏
@DrEricLeckie4 ай бұрын
I tend to find the opposite. Weighted squats cause the tension of the pelvic floor muscles to provide additional support internally, sometimes leading to hypertonicity = tightness not weakness. I hope this helps
