Watches I think will go up in value: Vacheron Overseas, Laurent Ferrier, De Bethune (when people catch up to the unique beauty of their design), Rolex oyster new color dials. Back in the early 2000’s I remember drooling over the aesthetics of the Nautilus, Royal Oak, chronometer blue FPJ when they were easy to buy at retail about $20-24000 each, wish I had the $ to buy would of made some profit. Also loved the PN Daytona’s were like $50K

During 80's and 90's, most talented watchmakers worked for major brands. The Cartier Tortue Monopusher you mentioned is a good example. In my opinion, such classic design pairing with intelligent mechanism results in a great watch.

What’s undervalued in the market today is Sinn. They are slept on to me because they are all immensely timeless in style and will look just as great over time.

Great video. Always advisable to go against the grain and not go for the most popular option works in many cases not only in watches.

How about Breguet type XX? Its an automatic flyback lemania chronograph with higher finishing and spec than Omega Speedmaster with the same price point? Lemania is definitely a robust movement. The casing is given the same amount of attention with the fluted cut as with other Breguets. I don't think anyone can beat Breguet Type XX at $4000-6000 in terms of big bang for the buck. Can you prove me wrong? Or maybe Breguet La Tradition? Its inspired by Breguet Souscription which was designed by the man AL B. Himself. The usual base plate is vintage satin-finished titanium which makes it light. Most of them uses a retrograde. Despite using an old movement format, the movement itself is modern. Also, the watch has reported to wear little and it requires way less service than Breguet even suggested. It is around 15k for the handwound and 24k with the automatic for the standard models. It is very special for the price it asks for.

Can't argue with your choices! Breguet are extremely under valued

Great video! What people realy need is to find out what they like. When I started collecting watches I went straight into Rolex hole. And that was mistake! I respect rolex, don't get me wrong, these watches are great. Not very good bang for buck but still they are ok, and you can easly sell them. I bought 7 rolex watches in few years. And sold 7. Not for profit, not at all. Just becouse they are not for me. And perhaps not for most of you. For me they are not special enough to wear them on special occasions. Lets be honest, they are more common and easier to spot in the wild than all of the other luxury watches from other brands combined. So on special occasions I prefer to wear something like Breguet or VC. And they are simply too expensive to treat them like a beaters. Sure, all of Rolexes are robust enough to take a daily beating but for me the price is too high. I care about every scratch, I care about placing my hand on soft materials etc. I wear Rolex and I'm constantly aware. Ok, that's just me, but I bet that many feel the same way. It's so hard to forget that you have a Rolex on your wrist. Now I have a collection without any Rolex, and I'm happy about that. But frankly it was hard to achievie ;) There so much presure on owning a Rolex... Now it is more like "which rolex you should buy" than "should you buy a rolex?".

Cartier make beautiful watches, with a great history. The same with JLC. If you do your homework and go second hand, you can pick up some lovely watches at very good prices.
