Then you may actually also want the mini tank for backup as it would be pretty scary if it suddenly cuts out else.

Well, I generally use a "Brownies Third Lung" when I'm diving in open water and when there's no electricity. That rig -- with small "pony bottle" with its own regulator in case of a failure -- has worked well for me up to about 80 feet. I also added a "bump" bottle, which floats along side of the Third Lung and is an air reservoir and a cooler for any hot air coming from the compressor, before it gets to me. It also has a water and oil separator in the air line that goes to me and another diver if I have one. If you are diving from a dock or a boat (or swimming pool) with an available electrical outlet, you could use one of the "oil-less" compressors that Harbor Freight sells for less than $100. The compressor stays high and dry, and you run your air hose to a "second stage" regulator that you use to breathe. There is a LOT to know before you go diving. So do yourself a favor and at least take a couple of lessons or hook up with an experienced diver before trying something that could easily kill the inexperienced or the unwary.

You can make your own for less than 100.bucs with parts from Home Depot or Lowe's. The longer the hose the deeper you go. Build your rig in 25' sections with quick release couplings. Then you simply add hose as needed for depth. Use a 12v oil-less mini compressor with a 5.00 filter and voile surface supplied air thats economically affordable for all budgets :)

@kerel8662 ай бұрын
That's like asking for an accident. Rule number one of scuba diving (any form of compressed air diving) is not to hold your breath. You can explode your lungs, a life threatening situation. You would have to exhale slowly all the time while swimming away, come back to the reg, purge it, continue diving. Forget to exhale while going higher than your last breath from the reg and you're in hospital with high chance to not recover at all.

Hello Christian. I recently subscribed to your channel. I see you like to dive. I walk around California beaches with a metal detector. I got the idea to try to dive and search underwater, not far from the shore. I didn't go diving. Did some freediving in my country. We moved to America 5 months ago. There are big waves near the shore. Is this real or will I be thrown? What can you advise? There is a small KZbin channel. Come on, I'll be glad.
@Christian_Wedoy Жыл бұрын
This is made to be used in the sea. Since there is a 3m deept limit the movement would be similar to at the surface. If you see like it is okay and safe to snorkel there you should be able to use this as well.

Places with lots of liquid water. So the desert is out. Arctic is out. Not much on mountains but you can find it. Otherwise walk down hill long enough and you're bound to find some.

How well would that work in open water with waves ? What happens with the compressor from some reason end upside down or sinks ?
@Christian_Wedoy Жыл бұрын
It will not sink if you attach the floating ring correctly. It is not made do be used in big waves. Normal snorkeling conditions should be fine. If it ends up upside down it will not suck in air because the intake for the air is the stick for the flag. So you would probably have to swim to the surface.. It's only 3m..

Just out of curiosity, would something like this charge one of the mini bottles?
@TrueHelpTV8 ай бұрын
no.. but you can buy cheap 300 bar compressors for about $150 but remember youre looking at like 20+minutes to charge a 1/2 liter bottle for 5-10mins air. Just build your own hookah system with an oilless compressor and your own regulator on the hose.. =p thats all they are.
