Forging 45 layer Twist Damascus from 1080 and 15n20
In this video I forge out 15 layers of damascus steel. Then I cut and stack it to make 45 layers. I forge weld it and give it a few twist for a cool twist pattern. Then etch it in Ferric Chloride to reveal the pattern.

Ive never thought about using my hardy to hold my steel while i twist it. My anvil is mounted securely to the floor so it should work. At least im gonna give it a try. Thanks for the idea.

Did you flux the individual pieces, or just use acetone to clean, etc?
