pamela mcgregor I am a blacksmith by caste in India, but we are no longer engaged in this profession. Being a black Smith here in India is a petty sort of a job. But, the hardships required to be one gives a tremendous feel. I am proud of the fact that two generations back my forefathers were blacksmiths and performed the activities by old school fashion.

That looks incredible. The only question I have with a chopping/slashing sword like this is that all the gorgeous steel sculpture and construction of the hilt and guard probably adds a lot of weight that traditional thought would suggest putting at the swell of the blade, rather than around the hand. I was told that a weighted handle is more suitable for a thrusting blade, so you can more accurately index the tip with the position of your wrist.

Great work, the originals are from my land, Iberia, were forged with iron buried underground for 9 years, to get all the platinum oxide, you could not see it well in your video, but also tapered at the top, to To be able to give inferior and superior cutting in tip, thanks to this sword, the Roman legions had to reform their equipment, by the beheadings to which they were submitted in the first hispanicas wars. La gladius es completamente recta(algunas estrechas por la zona central) y no imitaba a la falcata, la gladius también de origen español y la falcata son dos espadas hispanas/iberas pero de origen distinto.

Jason M its an epoxy mix when put together it activates the glue so it adheres and the powder, my best geuss, is for color like grout in between a tile.

My back hurts just watching you swing that hammer. Use the anvil, capture the rebound, and let the weight of the hammer do the work. You'll stop having to wonder why your back hurts so much at the end of the day.
