Once again I'm impressed. I had a thought of rounding out the Allen before shaping the blade, but keeping the style was awesome. Keep it up dude! Can't wait for the next one!

I just bought the same wrench from a flea market. I’m glad to know that it’s a good raw material to make a knife 😅

FINALLY someone else decided to make one out of this. There was literally only one video of a guy who made a knife out of an Allen Wrench. Also youve gotten really good at forging cause tgis blade looks awesome. Keep it creative

Very elegant and nice lines .You sold me ...that exact same size allen wrench that's been sitting atop the press at work for the last 5 years is gonna go missing...and become a gurhkri.

Very nice, have you thought about bluing or some sort of finish to the metal to give it some protection from rust? I liked what I could see of the colour on it when it came out of the oil

You can try to take the warp out, by reheating to tempering heat and using three rollers in a vise. Place the first two, one at either end of the inside curve of the warp, the third goes on the other side, at the high spot. You slowly, gently close the vise, until the blade is bent almost as far in the other direction. Loosen the vise, check to see where the blade has settled, repeat as necessary.

Absolutely beautiful knife! I could see myself using that in the kitchen. A little constructive criticism. When you straightened it, to me, you lost what it was. Personally i would have used straight end for the blade and the curved area as the grip and made a hunting knife. This knife just looks as if it was made from some generic hexagonal stock.

@msblades53827 жыл бұрын
Jake great build and nice job forging. I'm sure you know but you should try and leave as much meat on the blade prior to HT and on account of the reshaping of the steel you should normalize a couple times before HT as well. Question Does your forge get up to temp easily? Its hard to tell on account of the day light and the camera not able to see the correct colors. I am building a new forge at the moment and for the burner I'm building a ribbon burner. Its still forced air but the heat is extreamly even threw out the forge and has no problem reaching welding temps in no time. Not to mention the ability to run at a lower gas pressure saving fuel. Just wondering on a earilier video you mentioned selling the blades. Have you had any luck using KZbin to sell them rather than Esty. I ask because I don't have an Esty but also have a KZbin channel. Thanks for the content you are a talented maker.. Sincerely Martin M&S Blades

Very beautiful blade. Is it hard to hang on to? It looks like if you were using it that it would slip out of your hand after a few goes.
@cameronjones38737 жыл бұрын
I notice you always have a warp. When you throw it in your oven or however you heat treat it take a piece of straight metal and a c clamp and clamp it to the blade so it stays straight.
