Love your vids! You make it look so easy. Love to know what you painted the blade with before the first normalizing. I've heard people recommend regular bar soap as an anti-scale measure, but I've not tried it yet.

Gyönyörű munka👍👌! Miért kell két fa lap közé tenni a pengét ha megkérdezhetem? Illetve milyen fa az amit használsz?

13:00 what kind of oil it`s that. how he do that draw in the metal?
@buddhapork2 жыл бұрын
It´s not oil, it´s acid. He didnt "draw" in the metal, it´s layers of metal with slightly different color that creates the pattern.

Can you forge a Viking sword with a long handle? That will look amazing.

how heavy is the blade? It does seem just a tad bit thick. Pretty craftsmanship for sure though.

Nice but will be way better if you share your knowledge and let more people know how to do work like that not only show what you can do but that’s has to come from the heart

This would be so much more badass if someone (the person who ordered the sword, or the one who made it) had bothered to research which runes the Vikings ACTUALLY USED. He used the Elder Futhark runes which were never used by the Vikings/Norsemen/etc. Vikings used Younger Futhark ONLY. The Elder Futhark runes had faded in use BEFORE Viking history and mythology began. Hell, back when Elder Futhark was used, the legends of Odin and Thor didn't even EXIST yet. It was a different culture, with a different religion, who worshipped different gods, and spoke a different language (a Proto-Norse language, similar to Old High German) and wrote down said language in Elder Futhark. My point is... the sword is absolutely gorgeous, but the symbols are completely wrong. It'd be like using Ancient Greek to write down things in Latin... I know most people won't care, and I should just probably let them enjoy things 🙄 In fairness, I don't think most people would know any better. As long as you don't try to show it off to an expert, then they won't be able to sour the mood by informing you that the "Viking sword" is using "non-Viking runes". Still, that sword does look stunningly beautiful.

so, you're disappointed swords are all similar shapes? ummm, surely that's what makes it a sword? you know it being sword shaped and all.
