I will probably never have an engine built or modified. I certainly won't be doing it myself. Yet I found this fascinating. Useless information for me to have... but fascinating. I just hope it hasn't displaced something important like my nephews birthdays or something.

As ever, creating a more powerful engine is all about getting more air through the engine. So reducing restriction, getting camshafts that allow more air into and out of the cylinders, letting the engine rev more... All key factors. You can also compress that air more by upping the compression ratio. There's no short answer but the basis of all engine tuning is that the engine is an air pump.

Forged cranks don't even exist for every application. So i would say you have a forged engine if you have all the forged components available for that engine. for my engine there are only rods and pistons available.
