Mate, that is one beautiful sword. We see improvement since the previous elven swords you made. If I may though, I really think you should add a pin (or 2) in the handle so the blade is not only hold by epoxy in the said handle.

Beautiful blade lad, I don’t know how you manage to get a sword to fit a non existent style so well but you do. Although I’d recommend you put a few tang pins in for security, and I’d strongly advise against wearing gloves around anything spinny. Such as lathes, belt sanders, saws and drills.

Very nice sword! Just a point of critique: Your title says you forge the sword but the only forging part you do is to make the curve of the bar. The rest is just stock removal. Maybe I'm nitpicking a bit here but it's a different technique

serious question, if i've learned anything from watching forged in fire, its that you don't quench the blade in water, which you seem to do. Is there a reason why?
@blendersmith2 жыл бұрын
You are right. But it always depends on the steel. There are many reasons to hardening in oil or water. Water has the disadvantage that gas bubbles can form more quickly in the blade, that is the reason why many blacksmiths won't do that. However, the steel I have used can be quench in water with ease.

Hey! Unfortunately the etsy shop prices are correct at the moment. In oher words: The maerial costs and the associated time are not compatible to sell my stuff cheaper. I know that it is very high but I try to work on that. In September, I will probably do a little discount of 30%. Best regards Markus, the BlenderSmith

excellent work, like a true elven blacksmith. But I don't understand why you just glued the blade and the knob. Making a fixed through tang the knob would have been much more solid. 💪🏻👋🏻
@ReallyTiredCashier12 жыл бұрын
Perhaps this particular build was meant strictly for display. If that's the case then glueing would suffice for solidness. My bet is that due to the curvature of the handle, he wasn't able to do a full tang
