Nice job on these knives. I especially like how deep you stamp your mark then it gets partially ground away with the bevel grind. Nice added touch.

Elijah, really enjoyed this one. Part of the reason many of us own so many knives is that search for the perfect everyday carry blade. I find myself carrying a small fixed blade more and more, either paired with a small folding knife or solo. I would be proud to carry either of these knives daily…God Bless, Mike.

I do agree that 52100 is the best steel for such knives. I don't own any custom knives, but I do have the new version of the Cold Steel Drop Forged Survivalist. It's an excellent knife w/ the new textured handle scales. I would have designed it with a lower too hand guard, some jimping, & a finger choil. However, I know many people think choils are pointless. Still, Cold Steel listened to their customers, and added handle scales that still have grip when wet.

I made an EDC similar to your shorter one ...I called it "Middle Finger...as 2 EDC's I've carried over the years are Schrades "Little Finger"...the "Sharp Finger" ,,,LOL....I think of it as a modified leaf pattern. It is quite versatile. Very nice knives.

Excellent craftsmanship. Very impressive. That said, why not add some jimping for more control, & handle scales that won't slip if your hand is wet? I've gotten into knives in the past few years. I'm well aware that many people prefer fancy handles (rosewood, micarta, fake stag antlers, etc). If the knife is for a collection, I can see the reasoning. But, if a person is going to use the knife for it's intended purpose, grip and control are paramount, even in wet conditions. I know a lot of guys wear grip gloves when bushcrafting. That's great if you have them, but what if you don't?

neither Bowie knives, where designed to chop wood. They where designed for self defence.fighting. That's why they come with big guards and have that pointy tips, that's why they look like short swords etc etc.. Axe is the tool designed for chopping wood. Machetes are survival tool for jungle environments with thick and damp vegetation.

Basically true, however some Bowie knives including some of the originals were rather massive, which would lend them to chopping, at least better than a little knife. But an axe is better.
