The best part about your weapons, especially the historical ones, is if they somehow ended up in historical ends they'd be considered treasures beyond value for the sheer quality of steel. Gorgeous.

Except - ironically - their Excalibur from Fate franchise - it was made from different steel/iron parts of ancient real weapons (arrowheads, spearheads, swords, etc.)

From what I have heard, the financial backer behind A.W.E. ME collapsed in spectacular fashion, and they had to stop production of Reforged. These guys decided to start That Works, but have only recently gotten their original production value back on screen. Whatever the circumstances, it’s just good to have them back.

Yet another beautiful piece whilst no historically accurate as you rightly explained fantasy battle axes and war hammers are my favourite weapons something about the intimidation factor and power of them plus the decorative ascetics of them appeal to me. Thank you for taking the time to explain this tempering method, using the heat from the quenching process. I might even dare try doing it this way. This must be really tricky to get right, particulary for something like a sword with perhaps four bevels and three to four or even more feet in length though.

Your axe videos are always fun, one of my favorites you did on MAA was you two making tomahawks in a competition, and I love the rough-forged look on this one. As for a next project, Kusabimaru perharps? Wolf's sword from Sekiro, mostly pretty functional, but I could listen to Ilya talk about traditional forging techniques for hours, which he always does with katana builds, and it's great.

I like how in the wide shots, Matt is obviously about to miss the fruits, but then they conveniently cut to a close-up of it getting hit. Haha, no harsh feelings. If anything, you proved your earlier point of battle axes needing to be light and maneuverable.

Damn, that axe head is thick! So much material around the eye. With Ilyas skills half of the thickness shouldn't be a challenge. That's a wood chopper. Still a beautiful peace of art!

They talk about this in the video: how there's the fantasy concept of the massive two handed viking axe with a lot of material to deliver a heavy blow, which is what they're making, but the reality is that viking axes were nimble and light weapons!

@@CasualREDACTED Hand axes and bearded axes could probably function as makeshift tools but two handed axes I doubt just because of the width. In terms of thickness they had more in common with a Ka-Bar knife than a felling axe.

A Heron-marked sword from The Wheel of Time would be a neat project I think. (Think Katana-style blade, but made out of spring steel, with western hilt on it).

You may already know about them, but Brendan Olszowy has made some really fantastic Wheel of Time blades. John Lundemo of Odinblades used to do them, but now even the picture archive is gone...then he changed his business name to Longship Armory, and somehow that branched out to Brendan Olszowy of FableBlades...but anyway, look up FableBlades and they have a gallery specifically for Wheel of Time.
