About the "invisible platforms" in Island Xtreme Stunts - what you're supposed to do there is turn the flowers into trees or other things, then use them as platforms to jump up. I mean, abusing bugs in the physics/collision works too I guess, hehe.

Oh, man, the nostalgia trip! LEGO Island, LEGO Alpha Team, LEGO Stunt Rally, and LEGO Rock Raiders WERE my childhood, so it's always great to find other people who grew up with them. :) Interestingly, the Game Boy Advance port of LEGO Island 2 was surprisingly decent; it was extremely simple, and not all of the minigames were winners, but it certainly seemed a lot more comprehensible than LI2 on the PC, and it definitely ran better (though admittedly that's an extremely low bar to clear). From what I've seen of the other LEGO games translated to handheld, it's definitely one of the better portable LEGO releases, at least pre-3DS era.

The large islands in Lego Island 2 a complete farce, serving only as a hub between very hit-and-miss mini games. The really funny part is how they let you travel back to islands you already completed so you can do... nothing.

I really enjoyed the comedy cut-scenes of the original. But the gameplay and controls were obnoxious. The third I never tried, but if I had to choose, *I* will choose number TWO! Sure, the loading times were RETARDEDLY long, but there was the JACQUES COUSTEAU section and the BLACK KNIGHT and a WHOLE INDIANA JONES island!! Plus, the music was GRRRRREAT!! Only that final platforming level was hoooooorrifying. It took me FOR BLOODY EVER to finally succeed. Even WORSE than Von Beck's Revenge on Emperor's Tomb.

Whenever you did a skateboard trick in xtreme stunts it would display your score for that trick, then slowly "transfer" those points to your overall score. It must have been a glitch, but one of the times when I did a trick off one of the high points on the map, the score I got for it was so high it took HOURS to transfer over. It was probably over half the points I score overall. Tried for weeks to replicate it but was never able to.

Brickster is most likely upset because he always loses. his few wins include: he stole a helicopter and the power brick (until it got recovered), he destroyed the Constructopedia (except the spine of it which allowed us to repair it with the recovered pages), and formed an army of robots (who have an IQ of 3 combined)

IXS was one of my favorites growing up. I must say that the game was self-aware that the movie didn't make much sense because if you're listening to the in-game music in free-roam, D.J. Jackitt will advertise the film by saying "80% action, 20% plot. TV moments not guaranteed, imagination may be required".

The inferiority of Lego Island 2 is because of how it was developed by different people. We could have had a different "Lego Island 2" which was based on other lego themes, with an underwater focus (hence the cave in the first game with the locked door), but the entire Mindscape dev team were fired so the company wouldn't have to pay bonuses, which basically killed the true Lego Island.

I'd buy that game again if I can find the Fun Club re-release that supports up to Windows Vista. The Fun Club re-releases of those old Lego games were the very last re-releases we'd ever see, as Lego is unlikely to allow them on GOG.com or Steam.

I agree! Lego Island 2 wasn't really a good sequel. My reason was everything you said + the fact that you could barely go in any of the places and that you could only play as Pepper. When you finish the game, this is still the case - despite the citizens saying there is still lots of fun to be had. After finishing the game, I would've made it so you could go inside all of the buildings and play as other characters which would have missions attached to them.
