I recently, last month...pulled a Union officer belt buckle off a field here in N. Cal. They are hard to come by even on the battle field. So absolutely amazing I got one in a small farming town in N. California. Absolutely amazing find. Has the original armory markings on the back and all. It's missing the silver feathers that where on each side of the eagle. And it's has been hit by a tractor plow at some point in the years in laid in the field. But no doubt it's the real deal and an amazing find. Really happy I have it. I pulled 1 WW2 button out of the same field. Everything else is coins with the oldest being a 1896 seated dime. I am up to 15 silvers coins from this spot. So exciting to get this stuff. But it's kinda ruined my other trips as I am getting very used to getting a silver coin every trip sometimes 2 or 3 silvers. Happy detecting!

Sounds like an amazing site to say the least! I would love to see your buckle too. If you feel like it, email me a picture to my email address in the description of every video. Your right, it's very rare to find a military related item in the old camps! Nothing wrong with digging a silver coin every time out! Have fun out there. Thank you for the view and comment!

I don't think the Natives liked them. But I wasn't there, and I'll bet you they had a freedom that they were learning to understand. Nice video, and good history. Soldiers be.

While researching this video I did not cone across any first hand accounts of natives documenting this in written record. But I would assume that all soldiers that fought in the Indian-wars were seen as adversaries to the natives. I learned a lot that I didn't know when making this video. Working on a full 30 min version for local and public TV. Thanks for the view and comment!

I don't understand how Indian's can fight against Indian's. I'm a descendent and it doesn't make much sense to me.

I just don't know enough about this topic but I know many tribes competed for natural resources and even took prisoners. Thank you for the view and comment!
