@CharlieConcepts-pw9ur2 ай бұрын
I mean border control isn't an inherently bad thing. What is bad, is locking children in cages because you don't have an proper place for them to stay. While you check to see if they deserve refugee status or not. What is bad, is when your gun industry empowers the gangs of your southern counter parts. To the point that they can challenge the government and wage an reign of terror against civilians. What is bad, is when the CIA destabilizes an entire continent to the point that previously stable countries are thrown into constant crises. So that people have to flee north to the very same country that destabilized their original home back in the day. What is bad, is when immigration courts are so backed up and under funded. That even well meaning immigration judges don't have time to give people proper consideration. And people are reduced to numbers in a cold bureaucratic machine. What is bad, is when pregnant mothers miscarry because they run into floating barbed wire set up by an over zealous governor. What is bad, is that poor migrants are hyper concentrated and shoved into a small sliver off communities. Communities that lack adequate resources to properly serve and support said migrants. What is bad, is that the very same country that gave my father is chance. Is turning its back on people that are just like him. Not even giving them a chance. Everyone deserves a chance, at the very least. We don't have to abolish the border. But dear god, there is so much we have to fix.

I find it fascinating that liberal media outlets tend to talk about far right groups with a noticeable emphasis on the non collage educated part of the description of followers and members of those groups. Seems like a way for collage educated people to create distance from such groups through an irrelevant aspect of their being. Some data suggests, far right groups are less collage educated than the general populous, other data suggests the opposite. But, that's not even relevant, because most of the figureheads and spokes people are collage educated, their inner circles, collage educated, families, friends, partners, people getting their coffee etc. The problem with this emphasis is that it lets liberals give themselves a free pass to be classist. conservatives have most of the other blame games on lockdown so liberals use this path to fear-monger. Seemingly forgetting that non-collage educated people are actually in the numerical majority and leaving a avenue of recruitment into conservatism and more specific more far right groups wide open. So, yes, if we would agree that non collage educated white men are more abundant within far right groups, I would suggest this is largely a problem of them being the group who is mostly only targeted by classism (mind you, definitely not the only or the most harshly targeted group) and that not being as much of an overt part of standard conservative language as it often is within liberal circles and the rest of us (also) have other ways we are marginalized within this system. But, the democratic party will probably never try to address classism on a large scale without pivoting to blaming one group or another. Because to actually fight classism, you need to fight class hierarchy and to fight class hierarchy, you need to fight capitalism. And that just will never happen within either of those parties, so better to just find a scapegoat i guess.

This was a fine essay. I explicitly talked about the connection between the elite educated racists and the non college educated racists in this video.

@@ForHarriet619 I feel like I might haven't been clear about that I was talking about people like liberals like Rick Wilson (which I should have specified as white liberals). Or I'm misinterpreting you right now as taking this as as criticism of you. Either way, I should have been clearer. Great video with a lot of good points. ;) Edit: I also only made my comment right after you talked about the Enemies list podcast

Vance's news superpasses Don-OLD Trump's news now because Vance is much more entertaining than the Don-OLD Trump. Many media sources can't resist Vance (Vance's news generates high advertising revenues too) to show the world's who he is. No wonder Don-OLD Trump must step aside to let Vance take the Clown of the world's favorite. 😂😂😂😂

@@ForHarriet619 I myself feel the same way. But it's not my duty to tell other people that there is a difference between eating a dog or a chicken. It all comes down to cultural acceptability.

Im conflicted. I pride myself on not being a hypocrite so i just want it broken down to me how the rhetoric about why vances children wont be able to focus on the white agenda is different than how most black people feel about clarence Thomas and the black agenda because of his mixed household (and his bs actions) Clearly Thomas is fully black, and the children of vance are mixed. However the concern is identity and allegience basically. Plenty black people feel this way too about the high number of interracial relations, specifically with American and european whites is interesting too. Maybe its simply access/proximity. But im just trying to find the true, true difference in concerns. Cus farakhan talks about this on record all the time...kinda Umar too.. soo...? Is it not a valid concern? I guess a good take is, when has it come to negatively affect a group of people? How does it handicapp a group in a way that diminishes their propsperity, and health? Is it just about "pure blood", identity, what we do based on identity? Should we all throw in holding on to our cultures and race? Because if we all entered a mixed relarionship today eventually we would lose our individuality culturally...is everybody ready for one big ol culture? Maybe that would stop hate? Or do people wanna keep their stark cultural differences, and races for generations to come? Honestly i like my blackness and i wanr my children to have that. Its apart of what i want them to inherit from me and their father as well as a happy home. I think alot of people copulate based on what they want their children to look like too so... idk the quiet parts out loud dont offend me, its how you know exactly whay youre dealing with...and again..my concerns for my people..sound just like that male hosts concerns for his 😅. Im not mad at his questions, i ask them to myself and amongst my lady friends we whisper these concerns as well.

I will respond to a few things. If we all entered into an interracial relationship the result would not be one big culture and end of hatred. It would be the rise if several new cultures and new ways to hate. A rhetorical question for you, when you talk about pure blood and identity, liking your blackness and wanting your children to have that, and people reproducing based on what they want their children to loo like --- what kind of blackness do you like, and what kind of black look do you want your children to have?

I'm in an interracial marriage and when I eventually have children they will be partly white. I would love to have "fully" black children like myself, like my parents chose and my grandparents. But being from a formerly enslaved lineage, we have technically been "mixed raced" for generations starting from a nonconsensual relationship. What made my ancestors "black" even though they were half white was the 1 drop rule, something constructed by white people to oppress anyone with African ancestry. But I want my children to have my skin because I want to share it's beauty and I also crave to pass on black understanding and solidarity of black people. I don't want them to disappear into a racially ambiguous non space-- there is so much bagge that comes with being unambiguously black but I still wouldn't trade it for any other race. I want my children to identify with black culture because I don't believe in an either/or form of racial identity. My children biologically and Lord willing culturally will be both/and and I think that is beautiful. I want them to have my features and my hair because they are mine and my family's hair and features but their father's genetic inheritance is equally theirs to recognize and celebrate. Total strangers to me ask if I am my mother's daughter because we look so alike. I see my aunt's pictures as a child and she used to look just like my sister looks now. Somewhere along my lineage I hope I had an ancestor with my face. My husband's sisters share so much similarity with their mom and yet they are all distinct-our families are beautiful. I think me and my husband have surrendered the fact that we won't have adorable carbon copy children that look just like either of us, but undeniably will look like a conversion of both he and I and our ancestors too.
