It’s wild to me that people use someone’s age as an insult or slur. Like, I don’t know about you all, but I didn’t have a say in when I was born. I also cannot help getting older; it’s kinda what happens as time goes on. If you’re not getting older then you’re not alive.

I've been puzzling over why women would align themselves with people who so obviously hate them, and now I've finally realized - they think this will protect them. Mocking, belittling, harassing, bullying other women is their way of ensuring that this behavior and attitude is never turned on *them*... but it's only a matter of time. :/

Sadly, I dont understand why, but women themselves participate even in the worst forms of oppression against their own kind. Here, in India some even well educated female gynecologists and nurses will insist their pregnant patients to abort their fetuses if its a female, just because its a female !!! Mothers and paternal grandmothers will murder their infant daughters/grand daughters, just because its a girl !!! These are just a few example. The list is long ! Its really sad...

I'm Gen Xer. Every since I was in high school and was found to be bright, I was ridiculed by black men for wanting to be better than them when the only thing I wanted to do was get a degree to survive and get a better paycheck. The usury and abuse of black women are great. Going to college and joining a historically black Greek fraternity as a little sister, showed me that black women were only there to do fundraising for men who turned around and waisted that money on partying and alcohol. It was disappointing. When I joined a HB sorority my sophomore year, my sisters and I gave THOUSANDS to charity and even got an award for being most philanthropic sorority on campus beating many white sororities! Yet, we were the villians! We are respected in the community. Many of us have never married, some of us have married out of our race while others are part of the LGBTQIA community that adopts kids and do good for community! We are not on public platforms bashing one another rather working hard to do good. Yet, we are riduculed for being grandmothers now and literally creating the next generation of college educated Millennials, Gen Ys and Alphas under a barriage of people especially black men and TicTok creators saying college is stupid and not needed creating ignorance in their wake!

Yeah, try immigrating without a skill(aka trade school) or an education as a normal person, it's just impossible. Plus you make way less, you're likely stuck at a worse job, and you're maybe not thousands of dollars in debt from student loans however you're likely still living at home. You can't pay everything it takes to live independently on $15 an hour in half the country anymore, and that's not even a realistic wage in the other half, $8-$10 is still common place nationwide. Meanwhile with even an associates degree you make several more dollars even in low earning states, which means paying rent becomes somewhat possible. There's definitely lots of incentive for people to either get a trade or an education, but celebrities love thinking just because they're really lucky, they can tell us how they succeeded and it'll work. At this point I think they do it on purpose so they stay on top and we stay broke and subservient to them, desperate for their table scraps, and unlikely to pose a threat.

It kills me too how these manosphere types will minimize college education and degrees while heavily leaning on the misinterpreted statistics done by people with a formal college education and years of academic research. It’s ironic. Most of the time, the people who shout down education are just insecure because they do not have one. And Kimberley is right. The gap between the college educated and the trades man is very large. You are talking about different experiences, different types of friends, likely different interests, different novels read, different views, etc. and those things can be overcome, BUT I rarely see the tradesman/woman trying to meet the college educated halfway. Instead, we often see the college educated being called elitist and having to give up the things they like to, for lack of a better term, dumb themselves down/lower themselves. People want to be able to talk about the things they like with a partner.

@@hr9336 Well no, most college educated women have debt to service and will need to work to pay it off, so being traditionally domesticated isn’t going to be super high up on the list of priorities. If men saw college educated women with academic connections, a passion and proven aptitude for learning they could pass down to their children, and the means to make money for the household that isn’t working in a crappy min wage job as just a different type of domestication, then I think there would be less animosity.

Here's an easy argument. A lot of success means dealing with people who ARE credentialed or who ONLY respect people who are credentialed. If you're an artist, that means being connected with people who can buy your art (aka rich), and being able to converse with them persuasively. if you're a community organizer that means dealing with politicians, if you're a blue-collar worker who might want to own a business, that means dealing with banks and investment firms. It's much easier to be successful with the type of experience that means your encounters with these people are useful to you because they're putting you in a class above others. Even for something like acting, the fact of the matter is that the black people who are successful went to college for drama, almost all of them.
