Glad you posted this article. We must recognize the first objective with the major product companies is economics. Your health is not at the top of the list so buyers beware. In other words, it's up to you individually to know what is good and not good for you. Your health is your responsibility and therefore it's most important to read the labels and know what's good and not good. Most synthetic preservatives are not good but are approved because only a small amount is used. Is ingesting a little over time harmful? That should be the question. Can you fill a bathtub one drip at a time? :D Herbalist and Natural Hair Product Creator of NatureFinity Products
@markeliupson943
@markeliupson943 4 жыл бұрын
The main thing though, is if the chemical is bioaccumulative or not. The annology of filling a tub one drop at a time doesn't correlate to how our bodies work, because our bodies are actually very good at regularly cleansing themselves from the chemicals we ingest. It's the same reason why no one dies from Cyanide poison from eating apples, even though apples contain a small amount of cyanide in them. Our body regularly flushes itself out, so it would never build to a dangerous level. The same is with formaldehyde. It isn't bioaccumulate, so you will be perfectly fine
@wisdomandpeace2668
@wisdomandpeace2668 4 жыл бұрын
@@markeliupson943 I understand your point but our bodies fully cleansed there roild be no such thing as sickness and disease. Sickness and disease are warnings that something is off balance. Reseach has now proven we are feeling negative effects fgom harmful chemicals in our hair and skin products. For years we assumed a little amount wont hurt us when in fact adding a little amount consistently over time has proven harmful. Diseases dont normally form over night which is why I ask the question. Can you fill a bathtub one drip at a time? Yes if it becomes plugged up by any means. It may take a long time but its possible. Research harmful hair chemicals and what or who does it hurt to know what you are ingesting through your hair and skin products?😊👍🏾

Hey Cuzn! Faye Sent Me. I get what Our folks are saying about all the Chemicals in these hair products. Ive been Semi Natural for 6 years. Yes I do look at labels but I"m gonna do whatever tames this 4C/4B hair down. The sam folks that voice about chemicals are probably the same people that ingest chemicals on a daily bases. If you're not, Great for You and hit me up with the info or farm that you own. As you stated, Its really hard to find products thats truely chemical FREE. I used Elasta QP will try again. LOVE VIDEO. If you have 0.1 percent of formaldehyde in all your beauty products, sure each individual product is under the limit but overall you're exposing yourself to more than you should. Which is what is concerning, things aren't done in isolation. We need to think of things collectively. These preservatives can also breakdown over time becoming less stable. We should beware of how we store products because ingredients degrade. I try to make it a point to do the best I can since there is a lot of stuff everywhere and I think its best practice to limit exposure. I'm glad you made it a point to show your viewers what it takes to be aware. TFS!

Formaldehyde in products doesn't bother me tbh 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️. There's easily 100x more of it, found in pears and apples than any of the hair products that contain it. It's all about the amount/dosage 🙂🙂. I appreciate that you took the time to do the research for this video. Love your channel 🤘🏾🤘🏾. Long time subscriber

Love this set up. The video you did prior tho, I like the lighting better. Lately I’ve been using nothing but black owned (usually all natural) hair date products but honestly whatever works and feels good on my hair I will use. To each their own. 3 hours?! And they still weren’t dry?! Uggggghh!!! I think it turned out good though!! 😍
@FinallyAmber

I’m right there with you with the black owned at this point. I’m not judging what anyone else does but with everything that has been going on it has been very eye opening for me with where these brands who want our money stand with us on the issues. I’ll definitely be updating you guys soon!

🌻🌻🌻 Whassup, cousin! I think it’s interesting that on one side, we have consumers that are asking for affordable natural hair care products, hence the lines coming from companies such as Suave and Dove, and on the other side, we have consumers nixing products that have questionable ingredients. In most cases you have to choose one or the other. If you want products that have “clean” more natural ingredients, open up your wallet a little wider and close your mouth a little bit from complaining.

I guess let me preface this comment by saying you have SERIOUSLY taught me so much within the past X amount of hours [from watching your hair care/braid tutorials]. I am sorry if this sounds ignorant, but I had to Google what "protective styling" was 😬🤦‍♀️I mean THAT is how much I DID NOT know. I seriously had NO idea how much time and effort goes into it🤦‍♀️ PROPS TO ALL YOU LADIES AND GENTS OUT THERE WHO SPEND COUNTLESS HOURS TAKING EXTRA GOOD CARE OF YOUR HAIR! 👏 YOU ARE THE REAL MVP's 😘 But seriously.. even though this information and these tips do not DIRECTLY apply to me (and I will most likely never have to use the majority of the products you mention), I STILL ended up watching a ton of your videos. And I will CONTINUE to watch them for SO many reasons: #1 Because you are beautiful (inside and out) and you are so awesome to watch! #2 Because I love learning new things.. (who doesn't?!) AND .. #3 (and perhaps most importantly) BECAUSE I SUPPORT YOU AND ALL THAT YOU REPRESENT!❤ YOU HAVE A VOICE AND I AM HONORED TO BE AMONG ONE OF THE MANY LISTENING TO IT!! It's funny that I initially came on here to learn about birth control implants and ended up watching hair tutorials for hours... whoops 🤭😂 Anyways, SUPER LONG story short.. I just wanted to tell you that you are BEAUTIFUL and I am LOVING your videos... Oh yeah, AND YOU ARE AMAZING!! 👏👍 That is all ❤

Im a stickler for ingredients for myself but when it comes to other ppl who are we to judge?? Ppl are vegan or vegetarian and eat trash or ppl that go crazy in youtubers comments then pull up to mcdonalds and like you said about things being in other products. TEA, isopropyl alcohol, sulfates and other things have a place in beauty products... i don’t go back and forth with people anymore because most likely they haven’t taken anything more than a general chemistry class and I don’t have time to get worked up.
