This is a perfect example of someone who takes responsibility for their wrongs. He was dealing with a lot of personal battles and living in his own truth without fear of judgement. He apologized to her publicly and you can tell he’s terrified of releasing his truth. Holding back from what you are can make people do crazy things and say crazy things. Not an excuse, but at least he knows he was wrong. I see a guy with the right intentions, wrong execution on some parts. He means well. Good for him for owning up to his shit. May he and the women he hurt move forward in positivity from here on out. You can tell he always truly meant well.

My best guy friend in high school told me he was in love with me and asked me out. I felt something was off so said no. He was devastated, I felt horrible. A few months later he came to tell me he was gay. He said he loved me as a person and I was the only girl he could see himself with, if he couldn’t be with me, he had to face his truth. I feel like this happened with Colton and Cassie. He connected with her on a deep friendship level and forced himself to believe he was in love with her. I think he knew if it didn’t work with her he couldn’t handle being with another woman and his truth would come out. Now I am NOT excusing his stalking by saying this. That’s abusive behavior and I support Cassie and understand her pain and fear. But there was clearly something very off with Colton for him to hold on soo hard and this was it. I hope he really took the time to explain why he did what he did to her and apologized. I hope they both heal.

Congratulations to Colton! As a 72 year old gay, former educator, I know the trauma he is experiencing. When I came out at 13 in 1962, it was a tremendously hard decision. However, what made my transition to being my 'true' self were the words my beloved grandmother said when I told her and my mother...."Baby, remember, it's our job to raise you to be the man you're supposed to be, not the man we want you to be!" I, with the continued support of family, church, and community have led a happy, satisfied life. Things that children need to learn and grow up and have good morals and values not about a guy that one minute he’s on some dating bachelor TV show seriously. Stop lying, you mean bisexual. Gay is you have no sort of attraction to the opposite at all. Bisexual is you have an attraction to both. People are so confused about sexuality it makes no sense. I'm a heterosexual male who never experiences sexual attraction in women but need a connection with them first. Gay is you only like the same sex, not your open to being with someone of the opposite sex. Your gay and even you don't seem to know this shit. Just like a lesbian claiming she would date a man she finds attractive but is still lesbian. No, it's wrong lesbians wouldn't be with members of the opposite. Anybody claiming you can be homosexual and still be with members of the opposite sex are really ignorant to homosexuality. Homosexuality means you only like or only have attraction to someone of the same sex not you would consider it as an option to be with someone of the opposite sex.

At least for the person coming out he/she gets to decide when it happens. So kudos to all the family members that supports the coming out process, they are also the hero.

I honestly feel sorry for Cassie and her family along with all of these women that gave up their careers to be on Colton’s Underwood season of the Batchelor. If he was struggling so much with his sexuality then why would he go on not just 1 but 3 reality dating shows that was televised for all the world to see!!! It just makes NO sense being a huge Batchelor fan myself. But yeah it doesn’t sit well with me knowing he mislead all of these women and could of respected Cassie’s decision to leave the Batchelor franchise initially. But no he followed Cassie back to her home town and they dated after she gave him a 2nd chance. He then stalked her and sent her several threatening text messages after their relationship ended. It makes no sense why a guy who knew that he is gay would go on a television show looking for a wife and then go onto to stalk his ex. It makes no sense why he would go on a show and date a whole bunch of women either knowing that he is isn’t attractive to anybody of the opposite sex. It’s like these women choose to pack up their lives to presue a relationship with somebody who they thought was a genuine guy looking for marriage. These women have given up a lot since they have been subjected to wide variety of tests. They get NO contact with their family or the outside world. Heck some of them have also given up their jobs which is a real shame since they were ALL defrauded. Plus you guys do know that several woman have been stalked and eventually killed by a ex partner or spouse of theirs. It’s like Cassie wouldn’t of pressed those charges if she felt she had NO other choice. Plus he even put a tracking device on Cassie’s vehicle which traumatised her to the point where she had to go down to the local authorities and get a restraining order against him. So in reality she is the victim in all of this since she is probably dealing with a diagnosis of PTSD as we speak. Meanwhile Colton is getting interviewed left, right and centre by the press while Netflix is going to broadcast his life as a gay man which I don’t agree with. Its like yeah I understand that Colton is gay but he could of avoided causing these women so much pain if he never went on not 1 but 3 reality dating shows looking for love exclusively with females🤷♀️

When I finally did come out my friends and my battle buddies in the Army National Guard accepted me and were happy for me, but my family did not.

Colton and I are the same age, and I am also Catholic. It took me years before I was comfortable being authentically myself. I have dated many men, had sexual experiences and thought that this is how it was for every other woman, lackluster sex and no emotional connection. I always assume women aren't meant to connect with men on a deeper level, it's men, they always seemed very surface. I loved some of them genuinely which I learn later was me loving the person which we all capable of. I had to listen to everyone around me talking about how it is a career death sentence if you are gay. I am also from the Caribbean where even less people come out, same as the football community. I fully understand why his journey took him through many twist and turns because your initial instinct is to not be gay. When I had my first girl experience it opened my mind to realize that I can feel something deeper with someone, and I can enjoy sex...I was just looking in all the wrong places. I am overjoyed for Colton to start living his truth and now he can finally get to know himself and be proud of the version of himself God actually wants him to be.

This dude loves the camera and publicity. This is just a ploy to shake off the heat he got from the stalking and bad manner in which he treated Cassie. He knows that people will now have sympathy for him and forget about how he treated Cassie and never apologized or acknowledged. He’s always looking fir a way to make a dime. First the book and now the Netflix series. Get a damn job and get out of the public eye. Go away. And did he really say that he just found out that gay people can have kids. Really? That’s a lie. You’re not that stupid. This is not 1950. You are not that innocent.

They just said they were wary of him. I'm wary of the guy and I just heard of him. I believe this falls under gut instinct and not projection. It's not like they said 'don't trust him, he's definitely no good, must be a liar...'. Cautious is a good thing. Now Eliza Ester's comment below is some form of projection - she thinks the orecise motivations of her gay friend are exactly what this guy felt with the woman he dated from the show. That's not a hunch, that's a full on novel of projection. Yikes.

Talk about a double standard. If a straight bachelor misled a woman he would be slammed by Hollywood and the liberal media but since it's because he's gay he get's a pass and in fact man/woman, Robin Roberts praises him.
