Meh, I think that was kind of out of pocket. Seems like her job was the only thing in their life going well, especially at that point, and may have needed to make sure she was still employed for the purpose of legal representation. I don’t know for sure of course, but I can only imagine how your mind would race after something like this. For the record, I definitely think they’re culpable to some degree for their neglect and providing their son access to a (his own) gun, I just don’t necessarily think her calling later about her job meant she didn’t care about her son or what he’d done.

@@Hayday.1979 I agree with you. Nobody knows how they’re going to handle horrible news like that. We all have hindsight so we know the right thing to do, but you never know. If I were in her shoes and had allowed my child access to a gun and ammo my first thought would be to get to where my son was. These parents are criminals and I hope they are treated as if they did the shootings.

Seeing as how it was her boss she was speaking to..it seems pretty normal and appropriate to me that she would discuss her job with her boss and not her son. What a horrible boss. She devoted her time to this company, apparently did a good job….but forget about all of that - they would have preferred her talking about her son……yah, right. Just another crappy company and boss.

@Jody Owen um- you can’t be serious. These people literally spent 20 hours a week, outside of their jobs, hanging out at a barn with horses when their kid was in constant need of attention, therapy, and laying out every single fucking possible sign that he was going to do something like this. They were neglectful irresponsible and now these other families have to pay for it.

I was a single mother and my job was essential for me. But when my daughter said she needed help, I dropped everything to take care of it. She was an inpatient for a few days and then just went to the hospital at night. I never missed any kind of meeting or session parents were expected to attend. My supervisor tried to make me feel guilty because other people on my team had to pick up the slack at a critical point in the mission critical monthly financial cycle. We all gladly did that when another person on our team was dealing with a husband with leukemia and three teenagers. Her husband died and we took up the slack for her and her kids to handle that as well. None of us gave it a second thought. We KNEW she would do that for us. That was the best job I ever had until our group got a new supervisor when the supervisor we all cherished got a deserved promotion. That new supervisor was the supervisor who thought I should put work first. All of those concerned were women. That supervisor managed to get me fired a few months later and COMPLETELY destroyed my life.

The purchasing of the gun for the son is evidence of their intent to rid themselves of their son. They knew he was emotionally damaged and violent. @@stevej9636 no you’re right being a shitty absent parent isn’t a crime but neglecting your kid absolutely is. They neglected him knowing he was in a dark moment and needed help by no means am I giving him a excuse for killing innocent children but his parents and the school seen his paper seen he wasn’t in the right mind set seen what he was searching he was home alone while they was riding horses no driving he was at home while she was at work having a affair not driving. So all those messages him telling her I see and hear things you’re telling me she was driving threw all those messages ?? I think not maybe riding her horses and being a whore. But driving while he was sending all those messages nah. She called her kid weird cause he played video games and stood to hisself they didn’t like the type of kid he was so they distance their self from the kid and that’s sad. And you’re telling me her texting her boss DRIVING to her kids school about her keeping her job and she was scared he was gonna kill hisself but she can’t text a message to her kid while driving because she’d get in a wreck?? That don’t add up. They all knew he needed help and didn’t do so. He was crying out for help and nobody seen those signs any school I went to if I wrote that on a paper I promise you I would’ve gotten expelled and went to AEP because that’s basically a threat to the school. But this school didn’t do anything didn’t even check the kids backpack so who’s really at fault lets take a moment and think who’s really at fault. The school and the parents of course Ethan is at fault for murder and by no means do I think he should get released and by no means do I think they should be able to file insanity bc he’s all there he knew what he was doing but he was wanting to get caught prior to this he was hoping his parents was gonna take him out of school and they didn’t nobody gave him any attention and the parents should’ve been there more for him when he needed a shoulder to cry on or when he needed a hug or needed someone to vent to but they was too busy in there everyday life with horses which the horses would’ve been a great therapeutic time for him so there’s no excuse for the parents nor Ethan. Or the school

My son is Ethan’s age, I still looking at her backpack before leaving to school (because he has adhd and gets distracted), I also send a behavior sheet to making accountable of his actions, I wouldn’t allow to my son own a gun if he doesn’t show me, he is mature and responsible of a gun use. They knew about the gun, they should look on his backpack before leaving the school, if it was in his possession at home.

@@anaishurtado1784 my kids wanted rights, those were earned by trustworthy conduct & behavior! It was my job to not just raise them well, but keep them & others alive in process! If that means looking through a bag, room, or locker, so be it! I didn't make it an issue, it never was 1! I drew a line in the sand & stuck by it! My house my rules, but also my GOD given duty to protect & defend, even from themselves at times! Grandkids now & my youngest graduated a few yrs ago. The principals don't change, tough love saves lives! The key ingredient of that is love, which is defined as time & attention well spent! If you don't have the wisdom & knowledge, find someone who does! Too important not to! What we raise today, society has to deal with tomorrow!

I am no fan of these parents… they are self centered monsters but I think it’s wrong to have clients be chained up and not allowed to change into more civilian clothes…. Because not allowing that is automatically prejudicial and I want more innocent people be allowed that ability too Being poor shouldn’t automatically lead to guilt

This is just the preliminary hearing in front of the judge to determine whether the state has enough evidence to go to trial, not determine guilt or innocence. Once there is a jury trial, in most, if not all U.S. jurisdictions, the defendant has the right to not be seen by the jurors in custody clothing unless and until a verdict is reached. Seeing a custody jumpsuit can lead to an inference of guilt.

This is a fake courtroom drama, and these mouse stories are getting a little bit sillier. Just consider the names mentioned. They are so called mouse names and a mouse script: Ethan, and decades before that (Ian, Enoch, Jamie, and Jen). Then there is the defense team for James and Jennifer who are out of a satanic mouse cartoon: Cheo/ Chei and Glow Worm. Even the name Crumbley is a mouse name. Every 5 to 10 years (going back to the 1960s) they've been running this same fake news story. By the way, text messages are not admissible in the United States courtrooms, and neither is wiretapping.

Why is this couple on trial? Is it because they’re making a point about bad parents? Yes they are. And how about bringing out the rest of the bad parents who’s children have murdered. Watch out black parents… they’re coming for you!

@@zalmaflash No... If I had employees, than anything I would know by my company policy would be classified.... They're my employees, and I would have an obligation and a duty to not reveal anything I know about them due such an intimate relationship. Besides, none of these people were at the scene of the crime, none of these people lived with in this house with the parents and the child, their testimony is hearsay and innuendo and has nothing to do with the issue at hand. I have far more honor than to testify about an employee in a kangaroo court.
