Darren Ward was part of the Nottingham Forest side that reached the Championship play-offs, whilst playing some brilliant football - under Paul Hart. Here’s Wardy’s story of his time at Forest.

Another fabulous insight into past goings on at Forest. The thing that comes through in your videos reflecting on Paul Hart era is how short sighted the club were to break up that team when with a few additions it could have gone on to great things, almost an act of vandalism, and very sad

Chippers....Manchester City fan here who enjoys your work. Many years ago when I was a kid I was working in the Adidas offices in the North West for a bit of extra money. I would go in after office hours with a couple of mates and tidy and clean. Anyway, one day I saw a letter written by none other than Darren Ward that contained his footballer status as a GK and that he was looking for sponsorship from them. The response.......a huge red stamp mark that said a resounding NO across the base of said letter. I thought that was a bit rude to be honest. I assume this was not sent back to him as a response in that format. Now I see this video and I remember that event. A bit random I know but hey. Keep up the good work mate.

@@PazLeBon I think that Ward was a Notts County player at the time though. Maybe if he was at Forest he would have been considered to have had a higher profile and would have obtained the sponsorship. No offense to Notts County intended. Forest themselves were in the second tier then with Platt as manager but I may need correcting there.

Definately not Tim Flowers as I worked on the away coach at the time and I can remember most of the coaching staff but can't remember who was the goalkeeping coach

Why is every single one of these all about Forest, have you forgotten Notts County exist, for example Darren Ward was at Notts for longer yet all you asked him about was Forest, it was the same with Gary Brazil, have you forgotten he had 2 spells as manager at Notts, get someone like Billy Dearden on there or even Ray Trew even though I hate the bloke now.

@@terrymccann2792 I just want balance as I said Darren Ward was a Notts player for 6 years, he was only at Forest for half that time surely he could have been asked about Notts AND Forest, not forgetting he also was at the Stags for a couple of years.

Simple answer. No-one, repeat NO-ONE, wants to hear about a miniscule non-league team. Might as well ask him why he doesn't cover Arnold FC or Clifton All Whites. End of.

@@donmason9810 So why do Radio Nottingham still cover them then, what I meant was he could have spoken about WHEN he played at Notts County, they weren't in non league then. Shame you didn't understand the point I was making but of course Forest fans aren't known for being clever.
