I started watching kickboxing just b4 Alexio became champion. I never met Dennis but I met the man who broke his leg in a fight Stan Longinitis. Those were the days. Benny the Jet Urquidez and Peter sugarfoot Cunningham Dennis played Jean Claude Van Damns brother in the movie Kickboxer. And Benny Urquidez fought Jackie Chan in another movie. But I don't recall the name of it

Met Dennis around 1980 back in San Diego near a Local Beach town rec center ( Robb Field in Ocean Beach ) . I worked as a waiter for Sea World during that time and after work I would spend time at this Gym kicking & punching the heavy bag . Dennis approaches me to ask if he could share the bag . I gladly step aside to witness the Massive pounding he gave this poor bag , it's as if he literally " folded " the bag as he displayed kicks that I've never seen, such power !!! . afterwards he informs me that he's from out of town visiting a girlfriend but was also in process to becoming a pro kick boxer while there . He was even kind enough to offer meeting up to train together being it that I was also into Martial arts and competing in local tournaments . we never got that chance . however a few years later while watching TV with some friends one night I see Dennis Alexio in a Televised Fight against then LH Champ Don " the Dragon Wilson " !! I Remember telling everyone this story at the time . that was so long ago ' man I wish things get better for him...
