@pastore perplexity girls in the comments thought their critiques had value and boys in the comments thought their critiques had value too or maybe they didnt think that at all and just wanted to give their opinions . im not the one to tell if the opinions had value or not but people felt like commenting their opinions and they did it because they can. i genuinely cant tell what point youre trying to get at rn it literally is not a gendered issue.

I don't really think so. Your appearance isn't something you have to change to fit other people's tastes. Showing maturity is just not really caring if people don't like your style, not getting angry or sad, just like "okay, that's this person's opinion" and being okay with it.

For example, idgaf about anyone’s opinion, but im always looking for validation from my mom and her just critiquing me has such a big impact on me. And guys absolutely seek validation just as much, they just have a different way of showing it. They won’t put on makeup but they’ll work to get a nice car, good paying job, dress in a way they think is socially acceptable or praise. Etc etc. Good Validation promotes confidence and self worth. It was as if he just took everything off a mannequin at Banana Republic. I am not saying there is anything wrong with his outfit or his looks but "clean cut" is very basic.

@@PlatypusRising55 i don’t think it was the outfit that necessarily made her take a liking to him. he walked in with a confidence that basically nobody else had. the clothes that he was wearing were sophisticated but they were definitely a generic kind of sophisticated however his mannerisms and even his haircut matched well with the sophisticated clothing. it’s sort of like a person who walks with purpose and confidence is going to look good in sophisticated clothing whereas someone wearing the exact same outfit who’s nervous, won’t look so good. the guy with the long black hair went for a much bolder outfit choice but the way he walked and carried himself didn’t quite match what he was wearing and that was really the only issue i seen. overall, his outfit wasn’t terrible but it just wasn’t for him. remember, she’s a former model not a fashion designer so she’s not only looking at the clothes, she’s looking at how they walk and how their clothes correlate with their mannerisms.

Maybe because they signed up to be rated by someone who claims to be a somewhat expert in this and not to be rated by a concervative mom with outdated ideas that rated their fashion sense instead of their attractiveness? She's honest about her own outdated/non professional opinion. Which is nice, if that's what you want but for most people is not useful at all. The last girl was right, she has a job that allows her to be who she wants to be and the world is changing. Her nose ring doesn't give her trouble so she doesn't need to do anything differently unless she wants to change her life. Good image advice is given based on what the client wants, not on the personal opinion of the image advisor. This lady claims to be somewhat of an expert because she did 5 years of modeling but all she does is pour her prejudice and 'fashion/style advice' into others while wearing a 2012 dress.

The woman at the end was sending back the same energy that she was getting, because this was like getting advice from an out of touch boomer. "Your nails are too long, your nose ring is too much, that's too much makeup, blah blah"... It's all just opinion-based from an older era, and most likely from her modeling career where they wanted "natural" beauty, but normal people don't follow the same rules. We aren't mannequins and we are allowed to have our own style. She was mostly rating their style rather than their beauty, but at least she was giving them real examples of things they could change fairly easily if they wanted to appeal to the largest audience. I'm sure she would have rated a somebody who is a current model low if they had tattoos, and suggested that they had ruined their body/job opportunities because of that.

She was there to receive an opinion so I understand why y’all may think it was rude, but at least all she did was state facts. She basically said “That’s your opinion, imma do what I do.” The other guy felt insecure about it and made it about him and his identity. @leet hacker they were both insecure to an extent because they felt the need to say something about her opinion. However, there are obvious differences in what they felt was being attacked. I wasn’t saying “facts” like “haha fax 💯🤪.” But really all she did was say, “that’s your opinion, other people have the same ones and that’s your right but I wouldn’t work with you because that doesn’t align with me.” The guy seemed like was pissed she gave an opinion he didn’t like. Insecure maybe wasn’t the best word because it made it seem like I wasn’t thinking the girl was probably insecure too. The fact either of them said anything about it was telling, but they took different approaches and interpreted her words differently. To me, I saw the girl as dealing with someone who doesn’t have the same views as her, like she had dealt with before, and had already formed her opinion on the matter. To me, the guy got his feelings hurt, which is fair, the words were harsh and probably not expected to that extent. But the girl said how she wouldn’t work with people like her, not out of disrespect, but because she has the right to work in an environment that will be good for her. The guy took it as a disrespect to him and his fit and returned the disrespect he interpreted. That’s my take on it but I mean

I don't think they should have gotten upset, however her judgements on a few things were very biased with conservatism such as those views of "nose rings are unprofessional" and "glasses are ugly" etc. Those are very outdated and don't typically come into play with modern fashions and aesthetics, her other criticisms on things like confidence, figure, style, etc. were a lot more valid, but even with some of those her view was still a bit biased as she was judging from a pov of getting everyone to fit into one single standard of beauty instead of judging them with a unique lens that would suit them, for example, you wouldn't judge a someone with a punk style and fashion sense through an ulzzang lens, nor would you judge someone with a y2k fashion sense through a gothic lolita lens, if you get what i'm saying. Still, she gave very valid criticisms aside from the unfair conservative beauty biased things.

@@venusharuna4187 although I understand what you’re saying, I feel like it misses the point entirely. The point is that it’s her opinion. It’s not fact. It’s bound to have bias. The fact that you’re trying to validate it makes no sense, saying that her remarks on confidence are more valid than her views on glasses and such as well as that her conservative beauty bias is unfair when it is literally an opinion. Each person is going to find certain people attractive. They have a single standard of beauty. Sometimes that standard has a big range and sometimes it’s narrow. If u don’t agree with her rating, that’s fine. Don’t take it to heart. Be confident in who you are no matter what. People will find you attractive. They didn’t have to be rude to her.

@@naygimanji7810 I know, I never said she wasn't allowed to have an opinion with biases, but the way she was saying certain things as if that was how everyone thought shoed that she wasn't acknowledging that its just her opinion, she was viewing it as fact and how everyone saw he world. I was only pointing out certain biases and lapse in judgement, which I am also allowed to do. And no, saying that her remarks on confidence are different than her remarks on glasses is not invalid and it makes perfect sense, what on earth are you talking about? Confidence and glasses are two very different things, the idea that confidence is attractive is universal wheras the idea that glasses are unnattractive is very narrow minded and outdated, she didn't state it like an opinion, but moreso like a "that's how it is". I am allowed to have an opinion on her opinion lmao.

@@venusharuna4187 Yeah I get what both of yall are saying. Though I think she has a point. Nose rings appeal to a certain RANGE of beauty... whereas given her experience it's likely on a higher range of normalized standards. She isn't saying THEY HAVE TO remove everything, but more so it would suit them move. Some may enjoy the feel of long nails, I know me and a lot of other individuals don't necessarily like long nails and that may differ. But similar to the culinary world I suppose it comes to down to a bit of some standardization. I agree with her...the glasses held back her beauty. Obviously she knows she needs them, but she is just critiquing the outside. Which is subjective... and I LOVE GLASSES especially as a big anime guy.but..... My wife is a good example too...she loved her thick glasses...but when I showed her that without her glasses she looks outstanding, and the sharpness and elegant of her eyes are more vivid...she took a step back but then after giving some thought she recently started to not wear them and agreed ...but it's like art...subjective overall I get what you're saying though and I also partly agree with it too. But I dont think it's that glasses are unattractive...but there are specific STYLES of glasses that are generally more suited for some individuals. But that's depends on the beholder... her views are usually more valuable than most as she had to learn the nuisances and emphasi on ones physiological composition to understand what may work for them most. And most of the time when I humble myself and listen to those who have this exp ... their range usually is very standardize in a good way, I've gotten compliments at work, from my wife, friends and even coworkers so it may seem bias but if you're open to change...its all good. Anyway enough of my rambling...blessings unto you

He wasn’t a 5 but as soon as he shut her down and wasn’t able to listen or open his heart to it he became a 5. Anyone can see that he’s an attractive person. But the way you carry yourself and your image also matters. The women is an ex model obviously her advice isn’t gods law. If I was rated a 5 I’d want to know why and listen to her advice even if I disagree. I can disagree later. Someone being sensitive, petty, and shady towards folks when they get their ego blasted are considered "queens", while REAL honest, classy, and brief individuals end up being considered "stuck-up" or rude in today's society. These people seem to have a serious inferiority complex and it's not a joke. Even after reading some of these comments, it's crazy how sheltered most of the people on here seem to be. If people actually saw this woman as rude, snobby, or stuck-up, then I wonder how they would react if they ACTUALLY saw rude, snobby, and stuck-up people. This woman was classy in a loving way. This video gives a good lesson, while also bringing out the trash in today's society in the process. I can understand being sensitive, but when folks get toxic without even being able to tell the difference between someone being rude, and someone who's just very brief and straight-forward, it shows how badly sheltered people actually are on social media. These be the same ones ironically preaching about diversity as If they know all about it but then have never decided to hang around a vastly different CULTURE in their life. This idea of rephrasing what you mean to better cater to who you're speaking to is a cancerous mindset. We should seek to not be so defensive & understand what the other person is trying to communicate to us. We shouldn't expect others to cater their words to us & we shouldn't do it to others in return. It's a real sickness that's taking over everywhere. Good advice comes bluntly. If you put it in nicer words it doesn't have the same impact on the recipient. You can make the argument that some will receive the advice better in less blunt terms, but that's not a problem for the one giving the advice. That's a problem with the reciever.

A lot of people are forgetting that the lady isn't judging them from her own views. She's judging them the way a modeling agency would so you can't judge or get mad at her for saying these things. It's literally the point of the video and people saying she handled her look dumb because she volunteered for this and got mad because it wasn't what she wanted to hear which makes her look stupid. Also you cant say all or a lot of people in the African diaspora is like this lady because this is not the lady's personality because yet again she is not trying to judge them personally, she's judging them from the point of view of a modeling agency.

@dahlia4323

Yeah it has to do with background but its still not right. I come from a culture that does the same. She was stating everything as if she knew she were 100% right and as if she was the all-knowing one. She needs to understand that it is subjective and is her own personal opinion, not the impartial truth. Some things she said maybe lots of people would agree with but others maybe not. Carrying herself as if she knows everything was just cringey.
@skdufu

@@dahlia4323 To be fair, she wasn't there to be nice, she was there to judge people based on her opinion. Definitely a bit cringey but if you said all of this to her face she might not agree with you because to her it was nothing personal and she was just doing as she was told. She wouldn't think to mince her words, I believe, for both cultural and personality reasons. And they probably told her not to lol

I don't think you all understand the concept of this video. Casting agencies are so rude it's not even funny. She is a former model with casting experience. She isn't an out-of-date boomer, She is telling it how it is without nit-picking their looks which they cant change just to be nice. She is commenting on their looks for attractiveness which doesn't always mean face. The attitude, confidence, and style also feed into levels of attractiveness. Saying that she is being harsh... damn just don't even think about being a model then because if you have a sensitive mind you will not stand a chance with casting agencies.

she's telling it how SHE THINKS it is. these people are just having their looks rated, they arent trying to be models. that's great if she says her own opinions but she needs to stop saying her own opinions like theyre literal facts. i completely agree w the people who got offended, especially the very last girl, because these are just normal people and their styles are their own ways of expressing themselves, they arent trying to become models or anything so the model who was rating them obvs came off as offensive because shes stating her own opinions like theyre facts when theyre not. the purple pants guy didn't really have a good reply but he was still well within his right to say what he said and the very last girl said what the purple pants guy was TRYING to say and she did it perfectly, i rly dont get how every single comment here is defending the model lmao

I mean she is an out of date boomer since her ideas about the industry were seemingly stuck in the period in which she was a model. Hence why her ideas about fashion were straight out the 80s. The nose ring comment was especially out of touch, I'm glad the last lady clapped back.
