I don't see it...He's a linebacker who specializes in the run stop and has never been lightning fast. He has always been a phenomenal tackler and still is. What he does he does extremely well. I think the issue is the secondary personally.

The guy beside him ain’t a rookie and Trenton Simpson is actually playing well. Roquan doesn’t know what to do in coverage. His reaction time is bad and other times he is playing way to close to the line of scrimmage leaving the middle open. He also doesn’t make contact with people running across his face.

What if the issue is not the palyers, but couching? These guys were studs just last year and demolished most of the teams they faced. So, to me, i truly believe this has everything to do with couching.

As much as I hate to say it hey have looked poorly coached all year. And not just on defense. It's week 11 and we still haven't gotten over the penalty issues on either side of the ball. Basic fundamental stuff.

Roquan is the one usually out of place. Everything can be the coach. Plus we dropped picks in almost every game, so that’s lets you know he has them in good enough positions to make plays.

@@GoddeKnows Fourth leading tackler and a huge part of the reason ravens have best run defense in the league. Pass coverage is not his specialty nor does it need to be. And that's not to say he hasn't been out of position a few times I'm just saying I think he deserves benefit of the doubt a whole lot more than the secondary. They didn't give up 260 passing yards to the running back last week it was Jamar Chase.

Every single corner has been lackluster with the exception of Marlo. That's just my opinion. And again I'm certainly not saying Roquan hasn't made mistakes too I'm just saying they haven't been as costly. And his exceptional tackling outweighs that for me

Let me take up for my guy Roquan Smith let’s get this straight he’s Not a deep cover zone linebacker why the hell is he take far down the field guarding anyone he is not a safety he is a big hitting read and react thumping linebacker like Mike singletery !!! Get him back closer to the line an if you must use him in pass coverage let be in just a zone middle read an react guy let everyone else man up simple fix !!! Play two high safety man to man on the slots an on the outside Wiggins an Marlon can handle that an keep two linebackers in a tight zone in the middle of the field where roquan an Simpson or hamlition can roam free in the middle an not worry about getting beat deep !!!

Everything with the defense is not all bad we wouldn't have been able to get back in that Cincinnati game without the defense forcing insecuring that fumble we wouldn't have been in the position to take the lead if the defense didn't get stops so yeah they historically bad this but as long as we can get them to make a play here and there we will be just fine

0 isn't the problem exactly. He's trying to do too much because #23 just isn't up to speed. 14 is trying to do a lot to make up for #23's inexperience too but he can only do so much up front because his unit is struggling so hardon the back end. Roquan isn't an elite coverage LB. He looks a step slow because he's trying to do too much and is THINKING. That's where PQ became so good. PQ was faster and much better in coverage last year at least but it took him what, 3 years, to reach that point. I think everyone expected 23 to just step into Queen's shoes and not miss a beat but things haven't worked out that way. The weak DL just makes EVEYRTHING worse.

And that one game against Detroit they got the ball ran on them so bad and and 4 turnovers so the lions stopped running the ball with like 60 yards which helped their rankings a lot. Then they started off the year with 4 really bad passing teams.

Harbaugh was quoting about three or four "types" of zone, blah blah blah...passively aggressively trying to intimidate the press corp that he is SO casually in command of the situation. An Easy Fix: More Man, specifically on outside receivers. Stagger, Layer, Zone in between numbers with ROQUAN exclusively on short and intermediate - nothing else. Let Simpson roam like Hamilton does, Blitz, Flats, TE coverage, etc So That Kyle can Be A Safety with Ardarius. Try out the rookies, too. No More Marcus Or Eddie! Let Tre White Cook!
