Oldhead here. I don't hate Pat at all for his energy. I hate his occasional piss-poor takes, but not his enthusiasm for spreading those terrible opinions. He was one of my favorite special teams players during his career. He could kick (all sorts of ways: kickoffs, onside, punts, field goals; you name it), he could throw, and GOTT DAMM he could tackle in the open field.

I’m an ole head and yeah I hate him! He is annoying as F!!! However to each his own and if he is popular with the masses that’s cool,I just won’t watch him on TV ( I really don’t watch much anyway) I respect those who find him entertaining!!!! McAfee has said himself he shouldn't be in the hall of fame. He's nominated along with Shane Lechler, Gary Anderson, Josh Cribbs- all guys more deserving of the hall. Nominations are based solely on media votes, so being a media personality he likely got a nod from a friend, not a serious bid. I don't even think he made it to being a semifinalist.

As a West Virginian I have always had a great appreciation and respect for Pat and have always felt fortunate that he chose to be a mountaineer. He has always been the perfect personality for us and I love how he keeps us up no matter what. He’s not just a great punter and sports personality he’s a great fucking person. I love how he put the spotlight on WVU bringing back our wayward son Rich Rod. It’s awesome having him back and great things are coming our way and we’re gonna take the world by storm. I like him alot. Its actually fun when he's about to talk and you can see his eyes dancing around to complete a half confused expression. Its an internal squabble where there's something he wants to say or do that would require a collision into the guardrails of being on mainstream media for the very large dollar that he could never earn as an athlete.

forgot to mention his all decade team selection and him recovering his own onside kick. His leg was a weapon for the colts. very reliable. could always count on him to pin the other team deep. onside kicks, tackles, fake punts, team morale, and pinning opponents deep. easily top 5 punter ever.

Shane Lechler better get in soon because in my opinion Pat is absolutely worthy. When someone revolutionizes the position they play stats shouldn't play a role, not to mention he did it in such a short career time span. Sure, onside kicks and fake punts were a thing before Pat, but his innate ability to convert sets him miles apart. I'm saying this as a Virginia Tech fan for what its worth.

McAfee was easily the VIP of the dreaded suck for Luck season, flipping fields at will. In the days he was punting for Indy and swimming drunk in the canal, he also hosted a show of sorts at a bar called Kilroy's. That was when I noticed his ability to play off the cuff and hold the room.

When Pat called the fake field goal TD pass in the Lions-Packers game about 5 years ago or so. That was my favorite call of his. My favorite thing he did post football was his match with Adam Cole in NXT. He did some moves that I never would have though to see an untrained wrestler ever do.
