Simple and straight forward, the host had no intention in obtaining the facts or any amount of truth from the get-go. Andy in all of his interviews on this particular matter was only interested in imposing all the damages on one man. It's easy to tell from this interview that he is filled with so much hatred and bitterness, and for that matter he tries as hard as he can to get his guests to dance to his tune of "Crucify Him" all in an attempt to discredit Rawlings alone or anyone who tries to call a spade a spade. Andy, clearly integrity deficiency is on your side, therefore I recommend you conduct some self assessment before your next guest shows up.

@@johnanwoh I think you don’t know what you’re talking about. Nkrumah was a great man, yes very great, and great indeed. But his one-party governance and dictatorship led to a state of fear and insecurity in Ghana. Brainwashed children were spying on their own parents without they (the children) knowing the consequences of what they were doing. People living in Ghana during those days were terrified all day long for fear of incarceration without being charged. Your friend, colleague at work, neighbour can report you to Nkrumah’s terrifying torture machinery and you’ll disappear one night. JJ Rawlings did the same to us in Ghana. Think of living under those conditions in where you’re now. Will you be happy? I hope you know the country called North Korea. Would you like to live there? That’s how Nkrumah was turning Ghana into. Andy sounds like he’s got personal scores to settle with Rawlings and wasn’t happy hearing something that goes against his perception of the man. But it was obvious at least to proper thinking people that Adomako Nyamekye and the rest wanted to overthrow him(Rawlings). If Andy were in the position of Rawlings, would he have allowed that happen? What he’s losing sight of is that, the rest didn’t have any VISION. Sorry about the lives that were lost and I personally think if all these people(Rawlings inclusive )can be fairly tried and found guilty then God...every single of them should pay for their sins. Lastly, if not for Rawlings’ vision the other parties and the democracy that’s given them the freedom to express themselves and put out their thoughts wouldn’t have been possible. GOD BLESS OUR HOMELAND GHANA AND MAKE OUR NATION GREAT AND STRONG. As unfortunate that some of the situations might be we need to taste the bitter sometimes in order to appreciate the sweet.

Whenever the west doesn’t like u , then u must have been doing something good for your people. The biggest downfall of Ghana was the NLC Coup that overthrew Nkrumah. It changed our gusty and that if Africa for good. His idea of the one party state so he can work with all whether opposition or not would have been great , the whole country belong to one party and we all work hard to develop the country without depending on the west. But what happened? Our own selfish and greedy people who wanted to have all for themselves overthrew him on the pretense of making the country better , that’s the origin of our immature democracy . 64 years down the line what have we achieved as a nation ? Our country has become testing grounds for democracy and various military rule, serving as breeding grounds for politicians to come and loot for 8 years after which their successors come to do same . That’s the same cycle we are living with now. It has caused great division that politicians don’t thing Ghana first but their respective parties so no political party want to continue the works of their predecessors cos the praises will be for the previous parties should they complete their projects thus they leave it to go waste wasting the same money we borrowed for investment and thus leaving us highly indebted. Why can’t we as a nation have a one party state or a single plan for the nation regardless of which party is in power. We as a nation can make a long term plan and break them into 5 year blocks for completion and access how far we’ve reached after every 5 years and carry on with the next 5 year plan if the previous one is completed or finish it if not completed regardless of which party is in power.we the youth should rise up cos if we don’t do something this selfish partisan political cycle will continue till they ripe us of all our dreams. We Africans can only be accepted in our land so let develop it. We have to rise as a nation and a continent. The youth need to rise up. African will have the added advantage of having the most youthful population in all over the working some years to come if we don’t psych ourselves with the right mentality , we are bound to fail again. ✊🏿

Please check. And please this your interviews of people who saw certain things during Ghana's recent history is very educative especially for some us who were young during the '79 revolution. But you need to be objective in your interviews. You seem to just gear your questions towards projecting Rawlings as a killer and demon. Allow each of your guests to say what their experiences and opinions are without forcing them to say otherwise. Your interviews are skewed compared to any other interviews I have seen. If he Rawlings signed for his own nephew to be shot for shooting someone then I think he was for the people. Shit happens, it’s very difficult to kill a family member and if he did that then I guess he did it for his people. The others who spoke bad about Rawlings just wanted the gains, after all he stayed back in the country to rule and didn’t go on exile but rewrite his wrongs. Many Ghanaians are so quick to criticize people. I listened to the whole interview, and the guest is not fake. Anyone who paid attention to the beginning of the interview would know that the guest explained quite clearly, that he was not in the ghana army prior to 1982/83. Because Andy was not paying attention to what he said initially, he continued to ask him about events that transpired prior to 1982 before he even joined the army. The guest expressed his opinion on those prior events based on what he heard from his friends in the army around that period, and what he himself thought as a civilian. There is nothing fake about that. Andy should have paid attention to what the guest said about his timeline of joining the army, then he could have steered the interview in the right direction by asking the guest only about events that he was part of. Please Ghanaians, let’s be slow to speak/criticize, and quick to listen.

Andy, I would have loved to be an ardent follower of your channel, but for your skewness in questioning. What did you mean by "wasn't it too early" vis-à-vis Nkrumah? Why didn't you ask the same question about winning independence for us? I think you have an agenda - an agenda to demonize people like Nkrumah and most especially, Rawlings. No matter what you say about Nkrumah, he is the best thing to have happened to this country. The man on your show is an Akyem man, judging by his name. He could say all manner of things to demonize Nkrumah, but he was very objective. Nkrumah became what you think he became because his own colleagues hated and envied him for no reason. If you were him, would you have sat aloof and unconcerned? For Rawlings, whatever your agenda for him is, he is still alive so you can take him on. Glad you are a lawyer.

I am interested to hear more about this Charles Dankwa's lineage to the great Mansa Musa of history. What a fantastic story. Please come again on that claim. How are you related to Mansa Musa of the Songhai Empire?
@KwesiAmoMensah4 жыл бұрын
There's a man trying to narrate that history so you can search on youtube... He narrates almost all the Twi speaking natives are brothers with our northern counterparts who had one warrior with his many wives by name BAWA, who led them southwards from the old Gana which was a trade city to Mali and later moved downwards to the old territories in Ghana. And goes to say the then Mansa Musa was the Warrior of the EMPIRE.

Andy, be realistic. What is your agenda? There is no redemption without blood shed. Same is revolution. We Ghanaians are enjoying the peace we have because of the revolution.

You don't understand what we call revolution brother. Revolution means change not killings and assasasinations. Real men of revolution don't hang on to power for 19 years. The change things and they leave.

@@jameshanson5561 you must read the history of Ghana. He did not stay in power for 19 years under revolution. When was the 4th republic constitution?

@@jonathanabaidoo7407 Thank you soo much for the correction but let me asign you some readings. The PNDC and the NDC was the same person called Rawlings. Furthermore let me refresh your memory , if ghana was introdused to the 4th republic as you said ;then it was emminent because before the 4th republic there was a 3rd republic which rawlings overthrew that democracy .so infact if rawlings has not commited treason, Ghana will still be in a 3rd republic. This means that the 4th republic was not necessary. The nation was at a halt during the period of PNDC. You need some political lessons brother.

In my opinion the root cause of the problems of Oman Ghana which we all know as corruption is not it is the ideology to guide and move the country forward which we do not have. Who is under oath,we all are If a Ghanaian child is made to pledge an oath of allegiance to his or her country and could recite the national pledge with conviction and until such time corruption will have no place in our society

It seems Andy has personal issues perspectively against Rawlings's regime. But brother lets drop those and open up and see things from every angle equally without bad feelings against anyone. Our fore bearers did what they could, thinking what they thought from their perspectives. We need to look at everyone's angle and that would be the begining of understanding to lead us into the right progress.

Andy, I love you so much, especially when I first watched your production, but there something I have noticed about you and that is, you personally hate the former president Jerry John Rawlings. Because, anytime you are interviewing these retired soldiers, you impose accusations on Mr. Rawlings. Your interview with Adomako Nyamekye, this man was reigning insults on Mr. Rawlings but you never stoped him. By that interview, I also started developing hostility against you and thought of telling Mr. Rawlings not to grant you an interview. You can profess to Mr. Rawlings but your actions questions really tell what is in your heart against him. Because, even when you are have been clarified on certain things you don't want to accept it and wondering how you can sit in front of that innocent pursue driven man for an interview. And mind you, he is not going to apologize anybody today or tomorrow. You, keep your feelings.

Because the Land was taken from its rightful owner. And yes I do know of one person who had their Land in Cantonments taken. He also wanted a cut of their company profits.

Ghana was very corrupt during the late 70s. Food was very expensive, technical education was for those who can bribe the school, poor people didn't have a chance, the government will give flour and maize allocations to bakeries and vendors, these vendors will make twenty times the profit. I use to walk from Accra Tema station to Achimota to school and walk back to catch a bus to Nungua, because I couldn't afford a bribe to go to school in Nungua. Rawlings came to power, and forced food prices down. Ghana suffered during Rawlings regime because all foreign investors who were fueling corruption in Ghana left Ghana. We were abandoned, but, there was discipline.
