Watch these deserving former research chimps enjoy an amazing Thanksgiving feast made possible by @TheTofurkyCompany and sanctuary supporters!
Every former lab chimp now retired at the Project Chimps sanctuary received their own yummy #plantbased roast for this #veganthanksgiving along with some tasty fixin's.
You can make a difference in the lives of these former research chimpanzees by donating on #GivingTuesday, sending food items from Project Chimps' Amazon Wish List or donating throughout the year at projectchimps.org

.......... These chimps are actually 'Veterans' in my eyes, as they survived all those years providing a 'Service' to our better health ..... So I'm really glad to see them at Peace and to see them enjoying their lives ..........

All of these chimps seem so happy to be able to enjoy their lives away from labs and stuff. Alex seemed to be really enjoying his mashed potatoes 😍 thank you guys for everything you do for these chimpanzees!! You have given them such a good home

Thank you for keeping the background music soft. Too many videos are too loud and the music often competes with the dialog. Above all, thank you for giving these wonderful beings some semblance of normal life.

To: David Christensen - Ha, ha, ha! My favourite must be Koko the gorilla. She was asked to identify kale from a picture. She had not learnt the equivalent in 'sign language' so her answer had two words.......... 'Slow lettuce'. As well as being smart, it appears she possessed a dry sense of humour.

Curious, I love watching chimps, watching them have parties and I've never seen them fed meat. Is it for health? Or expense? Just curious as I know they do eat insects and meat in the wild when they can.

@@videotapeses Appreciated and good info on the chimps diet! However, chimps are not like us in diet. We are omnivores who can and should digest meat and benefit greatly over plant based diet in doing so.

Mark Andrew Skates Mark Andrew Skates Our number one killer in the United States is heart disease, and the only diet that's ever been scientifically shown to reverse heart disease is a whole foods plant based diet. The longest living populations on Earth eat the least amount of meat (Okinawa, Loma linda, etc.) Research has shown that we can be healthy and thrive on a plant based diet. The world health organization has stated that a well planned vegan diet is safe for all stages of life, including infants, childhood and pregnancy. I personally choose to eat a vegan diet because I think it's the most compassionate choice. All animals can suffer like you and I so I try to minimize that as much as possible.

@@videotapeses I appreciate your thoughts on being vegan for other animals sake. But would again thoroughly disagree on your position. That you cite recommendations from the same people that gave us the high carb diet, fat is bad, cholesterol is bad, etc, should give you pause. What you're saying is we evolved 'wrong'. It's like telling a shark, 'while you can eat fish, you'd be healthier with plants', (or insert any living thing on the planet that eats meat and replace with plants). You end up with a sick/dead animal.
@videotapeses
@videotapeses 5 жыл бұрын
@@Nomad_Skateboarding True omnivores don't get atherosclerosis, unlike humans. Think of dogs, you can feed them as much meat as you want, road kill, raw meat and they never get heart disease. In scientific studies the only way they have replicated heart disease is by feeding herbivores animal protein. Everything about our biology, again, shows that we are more like frugivores, not omnivores. If you are open minded to science I would highly recommend doing your own research on this topic. That's not to say our discovery of communication, fire, cooking and eating animals didn't help us evolve because it did. But everything about us suggests we are not true omnivores by design. True carnivores will die without eating meat, we will not. This isn't to say eating too many calories, refined oils and sugar doesn't play a part because it does but many studies have linked high animal protein diets to shortened life span, specific cancers and heart disease.
