Former Secret Service agent describes JFK assassination in new detail

For the first time, former Secret Service agent Paul Landis is describing what he saw when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, and claims he's the person who found the "magic bullet" that is the mystery at the root of many conspiracy theories surrounding the president's death. He shares his story with NBC's Gadi Schwartz.

I count FIVE shots. One MISS, which caused concrete fragments to hit James Tague, one THROAT shot through the front windshield, one BACK shot which did not penetrate, a shot that hit Connelly and caused all of the damage to his body, and of course the Kennedy Head shot, which I believe originated from the front. That's five shots and that means that a conspiracy was in play that day.

You forgot the bullet that bystanders found near the manhole cover across from the GK. The bullet had dug a lengthy furrow through the grass as was pointed out by a woman bystander as seen in a photo taken. A followup photo is of a lanky man in a business suit putting the bullet in his pant pocket.

I agree, the final fatal shot was probably from the front, from the area behind the fence. A reasonable assumption would be Oswald's' first shot went wild and chipped the curb. The second, might have hit the president's neck, and left a small exit wound, see recent interview with the young doctor who was standing facing Kennedy on the exam table. The third hit Connally, going through bone, and would have been in bad shape. The two mushroom bullet fragments on the back seat came from where? Were these from Connally and picked up and placed on the rear seat? My question is the Carcano rifle has a 4-round magazine, only 3 rounds appear to have been fired. Why didn't Oswald, or the shooter fire a 4th shot? Audio witnesses tend to confirm the last 2 shots came close together, indicating multiple shooters. Was Oswald's job to set a rhythm or pattern of shots to mask the sound of another shooter(s), possibly from the front? Did this pristine bullet he mention fall out from Kennedy's neck or was it placed there in the confusion during the ride to the hospital.? Lots of questions here.

Most witnesses heard 3 shots. Windshield is still in the national archives and its only damage is a crack caused by a bullet fragment which also damaged the chrome plating... from the inside. It's completely implausible anybody would ever assume they would frame this on a lone shooter while firing from multiple directions. View of the entry wound on Connally's back would have been completely blocked by Kennedy's body, the same bullet has to have gone through both of them.

Interesting, the Founders mandated a Representative must be at least 25, exactly where psychologists say a person's brain is then fully developed and not the 21 (old) age for voting, but since 1971, only 18. Which was a cruel mistake just because men were drafted into the illegal Vietnam War at that same age, so people thought, if a man can be drafted, why can't he vote at that age? It was known then people don't have a full functioning brain developed until their 20s, so the 21 at least seemed reasonable, and far better than only as a teenager of 18! 30 is the minimum for a Senator, and 35 for the President.

Something doesn't smell right here...Landis was a trained Secret Service agent who knew better than to sheepishly slip such important evidence on to a stretcher...He would have given it to his supervisor and explained where he found it...I not only find this totally unbelievable but also find his saying he never heard or saw anything about the assassination or that bullet over the last 60 years to be laughable...Landis could have been charged with obstructing the investigation and failing to perform his duties and suffered serious consequences, so it just isn't believable that he would handle such evidence that way or no one would see him dropping that bullet on the stretcher...What rotten journalism the NBC host practices by failing to register that once Landis disproves the Magic Bullet that therefore Landis' claim that the 3 shells prove Oswald did it is invalid because the scenario now requires a 4th bullet...

What is more unbelievable - an agent grabbing a bullet under shock and duress and putting it with the President, or an agent scrubbing the crime scene with a bucket of water within 10 minutes? Well, we know the latter definitely occurred. The point is that logic did not carry the day that day. He may be telling the truth.

Where are you getting the idea he never heard or saw anything about the assassination? He never said or implies that at all. In fact he says that exact opposite. He said was he intentionally avoiding reading about it. Meaning he absolutely did see stuff about it. He just refused to read what he saw.

The Secret Service was probably part of the conspiracy that day. When the motorcade left Love Field, one of their men was ordered off the back of JFK's limo. He can be seen, in a video, raising his arms in consternation about the unexplained decision to remove him from the standing post on the rear bumper. Also, there were supposed to be motorcycle cops riding alongside JFK on both sides of the limo,, as part of his protection. When questioned about why those officers weren't there, some Secret Service guy said JFK had asked those officers not be there so people would have a better chance to see him. But the Secret Service later admitted that JFK's attitude toward their protection strategies was always to agree with whatever security formation they wanted. So they were lying.

What you said about JFKs protection in previous motorcades is the truth, contrasted to the deliberately stripped-down protection on Nov. 22, contrasted to Mon. Nov. 18 in Tampa, FL. Only four days later, no motorcycle cops OR S.S. agents on the vulnerable right side where JFK sat. Only motorcycle cops FAR BACK from the limo on the left side! And the S.S. car should have been leading the limo (not trailing it), so it could deliberately slow down to stay close to the limo, but not allowing it to go slower than the legal 11mph for the president at all times. In trailing, it allows the driver (William Greer) to pull too far ahead, as was the case in Dallas, and the S.S. car was too far back to give him fast attention! Yes, you pointedly demolished that phony claim by the usual Kennedy-haters that Kennedy himself somehow could "order" S.S. agents away so people on the route could see him better, and he therefore caused his own death! That is cruel, not to mention completely wrong, as the S.S. can order the President in the law passed, not the other way around. And the S.S. did admit Kennedy did agree to do what the S.S. wanted in his entire 34 months as president, in order to protect him. Suddenly, that close protection as recently as in Tampa, FL with agents riding on the rear footrests and handles for over 26-miles, exactly as should have been replicated in Dallas, was not there!

There were a number of unusual things that happened that day. The phone system went down for about half hour immediately after the assassination in Washington. Oswald did not make all these unusual things happen. This assassination was orchestrated by Israel and the Rothchilds having the CIA do the killing. Members of the FBI and Secret Service were involved also.

You can not be serious ... At 16:15 Landis says "I saw a bullet and wanted to preserve it, and make sure it did not get lost." So what does he do ?? He just lays it on a stretcher without telling a soul, having no clue who might find it, and leaves. HEY - how about giving it to Roy Kellerman the Secret Service Agent in charge that day and then showing him EXACTLY where you found it ?? Then he keeps silent about it for 60 years, even though it ends up being (somehow) found on Connolly's stretcher. I 100% believe Clint Hill, who not only was the most attuned person in Dealey Plaza that day, but has been the most honest, transparent, reliable and haunted witness since Nov. 22, 1963. Clint Hill wrote a very good books about 10 years ago in which he contacted EVERY Secret Service agent on the JFK detail asking for their accounts and recollections but Landis says he was never even contacted. BS. Then Landis makes the even more ludicrous claim that he merely found the bullet QUOTE "just lying where the seam on the back seat meets the middle of the trunk, and it's uhh where they would have attached the bubbletop." So that is on TOP of the back seat. So now JFK researchers who question that the spent "magic bullet" had been likely to have fallen out of Connolly's wrist and ended up on his stretcher - is going to instead try to imagine this same bullet (not pristine in any way to begin with, base is completely oval) went IN Kennedy's back but then just fell out BEHIND him. And what convenient timing for this new money-maker of a Book --- 2 months before the 60th anniversary of that horrible day.

This story just does not add up: a Secret Service Agent with a bullet with rifling marks does not responsibly hold on to the bullet and turn it in to proper chain of command authority? Anyone with training in police work would know the rifling (striping?) would most definitely tie the bullet to whatever gun fired it. An essential piece of evidence that should have been tagged and identified with the time and location where it was found and the name of the person who found it and turned it in. Better yet, the bullet should have been left where it was located on the limousine, for fingerprinting, (and today DNA testing), as well as ballistic trajectory analysis. Of course in 1963, he did not have a mobile phone to call for backup to cordon off the limousine from the surging crowd at Parkland Hospital, so maybe it makes sense that he would pick up belongings and evidence that might otherwise have disappeared. Furthermore, the bullet as seen in the Exhibit photo does not in any way appear deformed from impact, . . . which raises all kinds of questions. And then, why did Agent Landis not pick up the “2 bright brass bullet fragments” (8:59) “on the seat,” "one of them, like my pinky finger, it was kind of mushroomed", . . . IN ADDITION to the "intact, . . . fully . . ., bullet," (9:14) seen "where the cushioning met the trunk of the car" that he did pick up, put in his pocket, and later placed on the gurney? So, according to this eyewitness, there were at least 2 bullets, which the NBC moderator did not acknowledge. Like everything in the minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years that followed, the Kennedy Assassination was a whirlwind of confusion, cacophony, and unreliable investigation.

It could not be possible for the bullet to make a hole in Kennedy's back and then fall back to that location with no evidence of any material on it. If it actually was there and Pauls story is true then it would make more sense for it to be a plant by someone else who wanted a bullet with the Carcano marks on it to be found. @Miranda - I don't believe for one second took 'that" of piece of evidence and laid it near the Presidents foot "figuring" the M.E. would find it, That is absurd, It could have rolled off the gurney when they moved it. Someone, for whatever reason, could have taken it. He "should" have slipped it into his pocket, and he knew that was evidence, you tell no one about it, put it next to the dead Presidents feet who was just assassinated and that's how you safeguard an important piece of evidence? Why didn't he easily slip it into his pocket where it would have been well safeguarded. From Landis’ Official Report Submitted on November 27, 1963: As the Motorcade passed the Texas School Book Depository (TSBD) “None of the windows were open, and I did not see anyone standing by them.” [Numerous windows were open and people were visible in many of them.] “The President's car and the Follow-up car had just completed their turns and both were straightening out [on Elm Street].” “At this moment I heard what sounded like the report of a high-powered rifle from behind me, over my right shoulder. When I heard the sound there was no question in my mind what it was.” [Surely the Warren Commission would want to hear every word Landis had to say.] “I did not realize that President Kennedy had been shot at this point.” “It was at this moment that I heard a second report and saw the President's head split open and pieces of flesh and blood flying through the air.” “President slumped out of sight towards Mrs. Kennedy.” “My reaction at this time was that the shot came from somewhere towards the front, right-hand side of the road.” [That area would include the Triple Underpass and the Grassy Knoll. The Warren Commission immediately lost interest in Landis because they did not want to hear a single word about a shot coming from the front or the right.] “I did not notice anyone on the overpass, and I scanned the area to the right of and below the overpass where the terrain sloped towards the road on which we were traveling.” [Landis did not look to the TSBD following the head shot, he looked to the Grassy Knoll.] “I do not recall hearing a third shot.” When the Motorcade arrived at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Landis said “Mrs. Kennedy's purse and hat and a cigarette lighter were on the back seat. I picked these three items up as I walked through the car and followed Mrs. Kennedy into the hospital.” A purse! A hat!! A cigarette lighter!!! Not one word about a pristine bullet!!!! Not one word about bullet fragments!!!!! Not one word about placing the pristine bullet on President Kennedy’s gurney!!!!!! Landis’ 60th Anniversary memory improvement is too little, too late, and unbelievable!!!!!!!

This man's statement that he believes it was Oswald, acting alone, could simply be fear. In the weeks after the assassination, people in Dallas became aware that some of those who had a piece of information that contradicted the official story of it being the "lone nut" Oswald were being found dead, their deaths poorly staged as suicides, but looking like murders in reality. In the next 15 years, many people who knew things about the assassination that didn't go along with the government's version died under "mysterious" circumstances. It's possible that he waited all these years to tell his story for the same reason.

I am hard pressed to imagine how a bullet fired from a gun could possibly come to a stop without deformation. I have enough familiarity with ballistics to realize that really cannot happen. A bullet hitting a down ski jacket will deform. The velocity is just so great and the bullet is designed to deform. Thats why its made of lead. (The guy said brass but he was mistaken - bullets are lead with copper jackets) I don’t bring this up to cast doubt on this guys story but rather to just clarify the fact that bullets don’t just stop without deforming. And they deform a lot. So assuming this story is truthful - what could that tell us?

I did not mention it as not sure if I was correct but you confirmed the "Oswald bullets" were copper jacketed over the lead core. That's why they don't disintegrate (frangible or disintegrating) bullets that spewed hundreds of tiny pieces in Kennedy's skull. That also by itself destroys the myth, and Paul Landis inadvertent saying he found TWO tiny bullet fragments, right there destroys his own conclusion in still defending the massively discredited WC Report, although he doesn't realize what he is saying in the conclusion of finding the fragments, and where he found them. Not where Connally was, but where Jackie was, after he fell into where she was sitting. I am writing this from memory, without referring to any books on the assassination. It has long been thought that the pristine bullet either worked its way out of the president's back when the doctors in the trauma room were trying to save the president's life, or else it was placed on the stretcher by somebody (which led to theories that the bullet was planted in order to frame Oswald). My recollection is that witnesses said it was found on Kennedy's stretcher and not Connally's stretcher, which has always been one of the difficulties with the single bullet theory, the other being, of course, that a nearly pristine bullet could not have done all that damage to two bodies. One of the doctors at Parkland Hospital probed with his finger the wound in Kennedy's back and found it to be only three inches deep, which suggests that the bullet struck him at a low velocity. If I recall correctly, this was a not uncommon defect with a Mannlicher Carcano rifle. Given the Secret Service agent's account of where he found the bullet, this all makes sense. And it is consistent with the long standing criticism that Kennedy's throat wound could not have been caused by the same bullet that entered his back because: (1) the throat wound was several inches higher than the back wound; (2) the president was sitting upright when he was struck in the throat as the Zapruder film clearly shows; and (3) the back wound was not a through wound. The conclusion is almost inescapable that the throat wound was caused by a bullet fired from the front. Its dimensions have never been described because it was obliterated by the tracheotomy, so it was never identified as an entrance wound or an exit wound. This leaves us with five bullets: one that missed the limousine altogether, one that struck Kennedy in the back, one that struck Kennedy in the throat, one that did all the damage to Connally, and one that hit Kennedy in the head. Some of the witnesses said they heard three shots, others said they heard four or five. Given the rapid sequence of the shots, the echoes in Dealey Plaza, and the differing locations of the witnesses, it is no wonder that accounts differ. In defense of the Secret Service agent, he was wise to protect the evidence without turning it over to the Dallas police. Granted, it would have been better if the bullet could have remained where it was found until the car was photographed as a crime scene, but it was not in his power to make that happen. The ER doctors have made it clear that the neck wound was an entrance wound and it was the exit wound from that bullet that blew out most of the president's brain from the right back of his head. Although the bullet could have been under-powered, another possibility is that it struck Kennedy just below the top of the steel and leather brace he was wearing. The brace was described by the chief doctor in Trauma Room 1 who described how it curved up in the back from under the arms. This would have acted like a bullet proof vest and could have prevented the bullet from penetrating more that the few inches described by the examining doctors. The brace could account for the bullet's relatively pristine condition, especially if the leather part of the brace bore the brunt of the bullet's force. This theory could be verified or refuted by an examination of the back brace if it is preserved somewhere.

I'm sorry for being so graphic, I don't buy the one shooter theory. I'm an experienced hunter and I've never seen an animals organs or tissues blow backwards when it was shot. The President's brain, if shot from the rear, would have splattered all over Governor Connally and his wife, not all over the rear of the limo. Mrs. Kennedy was seen and has stated that she crawled up on the rear of the limo to retrieve pieces of her husbands' brain. That shot had to have been from the front, thus proving there were at least two shooters. The bullet that was found by the Presidents' side, if it had been any of the bullets that struck either The President or governor Connally would have been deformed by the impact, which is what bullets are designed to do. I'm sorry, but the evidence screams conspiracy/cover-up.

Why doesn't the interviewer ask how close together were 2nd and 3rd shots? This is absolutely crucial to the case. If the shots were very close together - some witnesses said they were almost on top of each other - then there had to be two shooters, because it's impossible to reload and fire that quickly. At 9:00 minutes in he says he found "bullet fragments". One was the size of the end of his pinky and mushroomed and he doesn't mention the other of the "two shiny fragments". THEN he found the intact bullet above the seat. Those fragments were forensic evidence. I have never heard that any fragments were found in the limo, and I have written a movie and an upcoming book on this. The limo was a crime scene. Today we know of CSI or CSU, but homicide detectives for decades preserved, photographed, and documented things like fragments and blood splatter as important in determining the direction of a bullet. The direction of the bullet is at the center of the whole 60 years of conspiracy madness. I find it hard to believe that SS agents were not, at minimum, aware of crime scene procedure. There are eyewitness accounts of them scrubbing down the back seat right outside Parkland Hospital. Destroying blood splatter forensics. Also if the bullet was on the back ledge of the limo, then it never entered the limo. (Although a sub-sonic bullet, meeting any object would have either dug in or bounced off, Kennedy had a back brace. Maybe the bullet glanced off that,) but the kinetic energy of a projectile traveling like a bullet pushes the bounds of physics to suggest that it just stopped cold and fell onto the open rear deck of the limo which had just sped down the Stemmons Freeway at 80-90 miles an hour taking turns and stopping with a lurch. The fact that the "Super" Secret Service when instructed by the ARRB not to destroy records did in fact destroy records speaks volumes about what they were hiding. You are correct regarding Sam Kinney. During a TV interview he revealed that he put a bullet from the limo onto a stretcher in Parkland. He didn't say "Why" he didn't turn it in to his USSS supervisor and he didn't describe the bullet itself. Unsurprisingly, this statement was "cut" from the broadcast. Kinney wasn't pleased by this... The orderly that actually found the stretcher bullet turned it over to the hospital head of Security. Both stated unequivocally that CE399 was "not" the bullet found on the stretcher. The third person who had custody of the bullet stated that he could not identify CE399 as the bullet he was given. The bullets further chain of custody is contradictory and cannot be determined. Paul Landis (apparently) didn't mention whether CE399 was or was not the bullet that he put on the stretcher. His reason for leaving it on the stretcher (he didn't want it to get "lost") doesn't explain why he removed evidence from a crime scene, showed it to no other SS agent at the crime scene, and did not turn it in to his supervisor. Although not explicitly stated, he told no one that he left the bullet on the stretcher. He had to know that by moving the bullet to the stretcher it would effect any proper analysis of the crime, yet he never revealed his actions to the SS. His actions are inexplicable - unless of course he was protecting this evidence from the Secret Service itself, because he firmly believed that they would "lose" it. What did he know - - that convinced him he couldn't trust SS???

What you say is true and I am aware. Read my reply. I go on to state that he gives no explanation as to why he leaves the limo bullet on the stretcher, nor why he tells no one that he did it! This is unquestionably a case of altering the crime scene, which presents false evidence to any investigation. Obviously, he should have turned the bullet in to SS, but elected NOT to do this. The only explanation is he didn't trust them with the evidence. To be certain, only minutes after the shooting, that the bullet was unsafe with SS we must ask the question, "What did he know prior to the shooting, or what did he see during the shooting?" Additionally, how did a "pristine" (as Landis states) bullet enter JFK's back, bounce off, or fall out and end up on top of the back of JFK's seat? Given your statement regarding the large number of people around the limo at the time, anyone of them could have placed it there as easily as Landis placed the bullet on the stretcher.

A full-metal copper-jacketed bullet could, if its powder wasn't fully ignited, not go at the usual 2,000 ft/sec (approx. rifle round) velocity, and therefore, may not penetrate the body deeply after going through his suit jacket, and shirt before hitting his skin. The County Records building (behind and South of TSBD) added more distance, giving credence to where some say a hidden rifleman fired, hitting Kennedy in his MID-BACK, not the 'neck' area. If under-powered, it would then only go into him an inch or two, able to fall out with only minimal damage to it.

And a rear shot from the County Records building is far more than 60 yds (180 ft.), more like 300 feet (100 yds.) if near the fatal front right temple shot distance. Hey, we can't guess what caused an under-powered bullet, it just makes the most sense that it happened. Aimed at his mid-head but the underpowered bullet went lower (obviously) and hit in his mid-back! No, not aiming over his head; traveling at 800-1,000 ft/sec is not small, just not 2,000 ft/sec.

The first photos taken in the book depository of the sniper's nest and gun found show the gun was a Mauser.

What kind of investigation is it if after the Presidents car pulls up at Parkland hospital and finally getting everyone out of the car but then dont put up police crime scene tape up around the car to keep people away from it so investigators can come in to check the car for any evidence of blood , brain matter , skull bone , bullet fragments , whole bullets , or for any bullet holes anywhere in or on the car or through the windshield? There's a very simple explanation to this story. First, there's no way this is the bullet that struck Kennedy's head, and there's no way the one that went through his throat ended up falling on the seat immediately after leaving Kennedy's body. However, the most likely explanation is that it's the bullet that went through both men, and fell on the seat when they removed Connally's injured body from the vehicle. The jump seat was right there close to Kennedy's seat. BTW - the term "magic bullet" was coined before it was generally known that the jump seat was inboard of where Kennedy was sitting... Initially it was believed that Connally sat exactly in front of Kennedy, making it such that the bullet would have had to turn a corner to enter Connally's body. But he was not sitting precisely in front of Kennedy - he was slightly inboard from him.

Even Oliver Stone ignores the fact that the jump seats were inboard so he can sell more copies of the JFK movie. All of the evidence points towards 3 shots fired from the Texas School Book Depository, including the Zapruder film. If you look at it frame by frame, the frame in which Kennedy is shot shows his head moving FORWARD, and the majority of brain and bone matter flying off in front of him.

The young doctor at the head of the exam table said he saw a small exit wound in Kennedy's neck, see his recent interview. This might have been Oswald's second shot. The shot at Connally probably had to be another, or the third. The first might have been a wild miss, chipping the curb, reasonable to assume if Oswald fired too soon. Was Oswald preparing to fire a 4th round, the Carcano having a 4-round magazine? The fatal shot, the last, appears to be from the front, from behind the fence area, see newsreel footage of people running up to and facing the grassy knoll. Was Oswald's job to set a pattern and rhythm of shots to mask the sound of a second shooter, audio witnesses reporting the last 2 shots came close together, Was Oswald aware of this or did he think he was going to be the hero and accomplish all this by himself? Very strange that he would state there were only 3 shots and then sticking with the WC report conclusion even after revealing this additional evidence indicating the possibility of an additional shooter.

First shot was deflected by tree branches and seen disintegrating on the road in a spray of dust. Second shot has to have gone through both victims, the view of the entry wound on Connally's back would have been completely blocked by Kennedy's body. Their reactions in Zapruder's film clearly show they are hit at the same instant. Third shot of course hit Kennedy in the head and a fragment of that bullet is what hit Tague.

Autopsy shows the shot came from behind and Parkland doctors had no particular problem with the autopsy photos. Witnesses directly under the sixth floor window firmly said the shots all came from directly overhead. No bullets or fragments were ever found that don't match to Oswald's rifle. Anybody firing a rifle behind that flimsy knoll fence would be absurdly obvious and very visible. Nobody would ever assume they would frame this on a lone shooter while firing from multiple directions. Officer Haygood, as he firmly testified, parked his bike at the base of the knoll and raced up it to secure the area, finding nothing and nobody. People saw him, assumed he must be chasing somebody, and this sparked a rush of followers. Behind the fence, they were all filmed milling aimlessly around with nothing to see.

A man who could have plausibly been Oswald was seen in the window. No unidentified persons were ever caught inside the building. Oswald was the only employee inside the building during the shooting to immediately flee the crime scene. Oswald lied about his whereabouts during the shooting. Oswald just shrugged a hollow and rambling reply when asked on live TV, "Did you shoot the President?"

What is obvious to me though, is that the story doesn't add up about the bullet being spent and only sticking in Kennedy's back because it was out of force. It was shot into something soft to have been so pristine and also it had no blood on it. The sniper on the grassy knoll was James Files---he admitted using a Remington Fireball with hollow points. He was aiming for the left eye when Kennedy jerked and so he hit him in the right temple. The thing we have to look out for is information that comes but there is no way to prove it. Even Files testimony has been called out, but Files named people who were seen at Dealey Plaza---and who would admit to killing Kennedy? The biggest blooper of the whole affair to me was when George H. W. Bush was asked by a reporter at a press conference where he was on 22 November, 1963. He said he didn't remember! The funny thing is there is a picture of him on the internet at Dealey Plaza on 22 November, 1963.

UPDATE: In a separate solo interview James Robenalt further explains his belief that the Bullet was undercharged (he claims that was not uncommon for the Manlicher Carcano) and being undercharged did not have the energy to go through the president but instead lodged in Kennedy's back (sticking out) Jackie comforting the president may have snagged the bullet and possibly it fell onto the back deck when she crawled over the rear of the limo. Highly plausible explanation of how it got on the rear ledge and wasn't deformed as a fully charged bullet would have been. Still doesn't explain the two shiny fragments. Or Landis not securing the crime scene (his primary protectee was Jackie so he was solely focused on her) but he could have commandeered someone (DPD or even a civilian to guard the car - maybe) This rationale has elevated my initial impression of Robenalt.

If 'undercharged' the muzzle pressure would have been greatly reduced and therefore it, being one of the audible shots, would have sounded different than the other "two" shots .. I see no research on the audio characteristics of a low pressure shot .. moreover, if a person, or group of persons, planned something as huge and horrible as this event, one would imagine they'd not be stupid and use cheap-o military ammo .. which is usually ball ammo ...
