I was a 3rd generation 7th-day Adventist, and when I returned from college pregnant and unwed, the pastor proposed that I be re-baptized to prove that I regretted my decisions. I have never read in the scriptures that God required me to be baptized everytime I made a mistake. I was so hurt I have not belonged to another church fam. I worship and live my life according to my spiritual convictions without religious affiliation.

It breaks my heart that the experience of some in the SDA church has left them with a feeling of being in bondage or stuck in quagmire. As a life-long adventist, I too feel free in Christ who is my creator, savior, and king. I wish God's blessings and healing on all with broken spirits or hearts and am grateful for our compassionate, understanding Father.

Congratulations to these brothers and sisters who have the courage to leave the SDA church. One morning many years ago I as a devoted SDA, was all dressed up to go to the SDA church on a Saturday morning when I heard the voice of the LORD saying to me, "Do not go to this church and I will lead you in the way you should go." Since that morning I have not stepped into the SDA church and my beautiful LORD and Master Jesus has been leading, guiding and teaching me to walk in the fear of the LORD and in His ways. I have been very blessed to be set free from the religious spirit of the SDA church. God hates religion for He only wants an intimate relationship with His children whom He has called. I do not miss out on anything after I obeyed God and left the teachings of SDAdventism. In fact I found grace and mercy in the LORD and receive blessings of goodness from Him. I love my AbbaFather very much and enjoy my walk with God daily. I am also looking forward to the soon return of Yeshua as we are all living in the last days. I pray that the truth of Jesus will set many free to follow Him in His ways and be blessed. God bless you.

eedztee gaelalu Yes I was very certain then because at that season of my life as a student I was asking God to guide me. I was also questioning the teachings of SDA church. especially the focus on Ellen G White in that church. The LORD knew my heart and He directed me. His sheep hears His voice. I have been out of SDAdventism for many years. Yes going to church is not wrong, but going to any cult church like SDA, Mormon or Jehovah Witness etc is not God's ultimate plan for those who sincerely love Him and want to follow Him. I belong to Jesus and I hear His voice every day. He tells me what to do, where to go and what to say. It is so blessed to be a child of God in these last days...

eedztee gaelalu Thank you but I am NOT interested in the teaching of Ellen G White. I am only interested in the teachings of Jesus. There is no true church organization and no perfect church organization. The disciples of Yeshua is the church. I am with an independent end times church now. I do admit some of the SDA people are nice but I am not looking for nice people. There are also nice Buddhists, Muslims and Catholics too in my neighbourhood. Brother, pl check www.exadventist.com May you find your love and security in Jesus and not in a church organization. With the love of Jesus, His princess.

I was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Cult for 12 years. But the more Ellen G White books I read and the more SDA Pastor sermons I heard and the more I spoke to SDA members and the EGW Estate, I came to realise that they teach and believe a false gospel based on works and obedience, and they have rejected grace: Galatians 5:4 You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. Seventh-day Adventist members will usually tell you that they do not believe their Sabbath works will save them, but they always come undone when you ask them certain questions, e.g. "Will you still be saved by faith and grace alone if you stop attending Church Service on Sabbath?", and "What did EGW teach will happen to Sunday keeping Christians? Can they be saved by faith and grace alone and still avoid the coming "Sunday Laws" Mark of the Beast? Adventists do not like those kind of questions because their answers expose their legalism and their trust in the 10 Commandments and Sabbath Commandment to save them. This is a plea to all the sincere Adventists to come out of Babylon (Legalism). I am still a Sabbath keeping Christian and I love the 10 Commandments and God's Law and love obeying God, but unlike Seventh-day Adventist members, I no longer trust in the Sabbath to save me. Since I resigned my Seventh-day Adventist Cult membership, I now completely trust in Jesus to save me and I am saved by faith and grace alone and justified by faith in Christ, not by my works. I now believe in justification by faith ALONE, unlike SDA CULT members, who believe in justification through obedience and the Sabbath to help them avoid the "Sunday Laws" Mark of the Beast. Thank you Father God for rescuing me from this cult and from the SDA deceptive gospel. Amen.

Sorry brother, but you are wrong about this. I'll start off by saying, BTW, that l'm not SDA, & refute the prophet's "status" of EGW. BUT, Christians, in order to bear this mighty name of Christ, ought to walk the walk! *James 2 verse 18* "But someone will say, "You have faith, and l have deeds. But l say how can you show me your faith if you don't have deeds? l will show you my faith BY MY DEEDS." Deeds/works/obeying the 10 commandments ARE, OF COURSE, pre-requisites for salvation! *1 John 2 verse 4* "He who says I know Him, & does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in Him." l think that for everyone who really wants to SINCERELY SURRENDER His life to God, should know and understand that the Everliving One didn't and never will abolish His own law. We know that the truth of the matter, is that most sunday worshippers choose to believe that God would contradict Himself this way, bcuz they are not willing to COMPLETELY SURRENDER rulership over their own lives! Unfortunately, God will not save a soul He cannot rule. He will not risk another rebellion in His Kingdom, such as the one Lucifer brought upon Him! Obeying God's laws show Him that we've made a 180° turn, & left our sinful/carnal way of life behind. That being said, we also know that grace is an unmeritted gift from God, through the blood of Jesus Christ, His Holy Son. Obeying the 10 commandments, though, is the ultimate proof of true conversion, and God expects nothing else from those whom are destined "to inherit ALL THINGS" from their heavenly Father, the Everliving One. God bless you all! 😎

There was a peace offering, trespass offering, peace offering, wave offering, sheave offering, drink offering, offering of concecration, passover, offerings on every day of unleavened bread and tabernacle, offering of first fruits, feast of trumpets, day of atonement, on, and on, and on. ALL of these offereing were of the best of the flock. Very valuable commodities. If you add all this up, and place a value on all these offerings, they represent a HUGE portion of their wealth.

I have been an Adventist all my life. But when I saw the message as it is in Christ it changed me. I am not ashamed of my beliefs because every single one of them are biblical. I have not found another church like this one. I know that we are an imperfect people with a perfect message. I am not confused at all about the atonement. It is very clear through the ancient sanctuary and now the heavenly sanctuary, how all this pans out. The problem is, is that not a lot of Adventist understand it.

When you go to a feast where there's both clean & unclean food for you to eat, the raw chicken meat & the raw pork might have been stored in the same container before they're taken out for cooking. Also, the same frying pan or wok that has been used to fry pork might also have been used immediately after that (without being washed) to fry chicken meat & vegetables. So very tiny bits of pork (which you can't see properly) might have contaminated the chicken meat & vegetables.

And we are only made complete the day we lay down our own works, our own attempts at trying to save ourselves, and turn to the cross of christ, and give over our will to him. It is at this moment that we are made complete, just as when the worlds were complete, that we enter into rest. This is on the very day you come, just as he entered into rest on the very day his works were complete.

Iraidushka: According to the Bible, the Sabbath rest is from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday. FYI, in Нори́льск (population: over 100,000) the sun cannot be seen at all during the polar night for about 6 weeks from Dec through mid-Jan & in summer the sun does not set for more than 6 weeks. Alert (in Canada) is the northernmost permanently inhabited place in the world & experiences polar night from the mid-Oct until end of Feb & the midnight sun from the 1st week of Apr until 1st week of Sep.

Iraidushka: Primitive hunters, gatherers & farmers keep track of the seasons rather than time. Primitive Eskimos hunted from Spring till Autumn & stocked up food to last through the long polar nights. But due to the demands of trade at a later period, a regular "week" was introduced as a gap between market days & the weekly cycle varied from 3 days to 20 days in a "week" in different cultures prior to the universal acceptance of a seven-day week for the purpose of international trade & commerce.

If you eat out at a restaurant, you're also not sure how the food is prepared as both the raw unclean & clean meat could have been kept together in the same container, cut up with the same knife and next they're cooked in the same pan or wok. And if you buy meat from the market, the same butcher knife (chopper) might have to used to cut both clean & unclean meat. So the clean meat is contaminated by the unclean meat.

Passover rules (even if you ignore the sacrifices): Bring home an unblemished lamb on the 10th of Nisan (Ex 12:3-6). Kill & roast it whole (i.e. no unbroken bones) before sunset on the 14th. Eat it with unleavened bread & bitter herbs. Get rid of leaven bread found in your home on the 14th & eat only unleavened bread till the 21st (Ex 12:18-20). Observe the 15th & the 21st as rest days & holy assemblies (Lev 23:7-8.) So, how's your progress in obediently keeping the Passover so far?

"If you love me, you will obey what I command." (John 14:15) The problem is that people focus too much on religious organization/churches and their flaws. The most important and absolute thing is to Believe and give our selves to Christ and accept Jesus because that's the only way we're save.

@genesis2revelations1 How do you know if that was a decree. Or was it just a letter. When you add the 69 weeks(day for a year in prophecy) to it, does it bring you to the anointing of the Messiah;AD27. It does not fit the puzzle. I understand how you could get confused, because it does mentions specifically the wall, however, there is not mentioned at all in that chapter about a decree. A letter, not a decree. The other decrees are mentioned. That is what is missing in the chapter.

What is it that the little horn does to the sanctuary, or in regards to the sanctuary? What type of defilement do you know that the bible speaks of regarding the little horn? Iraidushka: As you believe that Sunday is the fourth day, then Luke 24:21 should read, "And what is more, it is the fourth day since all this took place." However, one of the disciples said on that Sunday afternoon, "And what is more, IT IS the THIRD day SINCE all this took place." In other words, he referred to Sunday afternoon as still being a part of the THIRD day since the time that Christ had risen.

iraidushka: When you said that the feast of the Firstfruits was on 21st Nissan & you also said that it fell on a Sunday after the Sabbath, I made this quick calculation: 14th Nissan (Wednesday), 15th (Thu), 16th (Friday), 17th (Sat), 18th (Sun), 19th (Mon), 20th (Tue) and 21st (WEDNESDAY). So according to my calculation, 21st Nissan wasn't a Sunday as you had claimed. Or am I wrong in my calculation?

Iraidushka - The epistle to the Romans was addressed to both Jewish & Gentile converts in Rome & in Chapter 14 Paul said that two believers can disagree on the choice of food & the significance of sacred days but both can be right as whichever choice one makes is acceptable to God. I think that verse 5 also includes the dispute over Sabbath-keeping since Gentile Christians were not told to keep it whereas the Jewish converts continued to do so & Paul gave a middle-of-the-road solution.

2) The SDA church claims that ceremonial laws (such as food & drink offerings, Pentecost, Passover, etc) which were directly related to the Temple services were nailed to the cross. Please note that the 7th day Sabbath was also ceremonial in nature as it was also directly related to the Temple services because the Israelites could only keep the Sabbath holy by offering additional food & drink offerings at the Temple on that day (see Numbers 28:9-10).

The first 7th day began in the Garden of Eden (perhaps in present-day Iraq) but today the 7th day begins at the International Date Line which passes through the middle of the Pacific Ocean. If you live in Владивосто́к, you're observing the Sabbath 8 hours earlier than in Baghdad. But if the IDL were actually located in Baghdad based on the book of Genesis and when the Sabbath begins there in Baghdad, it would be still the 6th day of the week in Владивосто́к.

You might not read books, travel or engage in other physical activities but you're still breaking the Sabbath if you engage in worldly conversations (like asking, "What will you be doing tomorrow?") or if your mind dwells on worldly matters (like thinking about your future plans) during Sabbath hours. Breaking the Sabbath is kind of like "whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."(Matt 5:28).

@jonathanbaby90 Curious, do you believe that the earthly sanctuary and it's emblems were made after the pattern of a literal physical sanctuary in heaven? In Daniel 8, what defilement was being spoken of that the sanctuary had to be cleansed of? Hebrews 9:7 - what room is being spoken of in this verse? what room did the high priest go into once a year? and why do you believe that a switch of room is being spoken of between verses 7:11? The first thing the high priest did with the blood..

Most Gentile converts had no qualms about eating food that still had blood in it or if it had been offered to idols but the Jewish converts would have nothing to do with such meat. Therefore, the Gentile converts were told to abstain from such meat so as to remove any doubts that "polluted" meat would be served when both groups of converts come together for a meal.

To Ms Juvy Fallaria-you said that SDA people have no vices, really? They are saints? Many years ago after I gradated from college, I invited a much older SDA man to a Christian church. He was about 36 then. He gave me a lift home and on the way he confessed to me that he visited the prostitutes as he could not control himself. As a young girl then, I was shocked and did not want to hear what he was saying. Fast forward a few years later, one of my former classmates who became a SDA and got married to a SDA man. Both of them committed fornication before they got married before they couldn't wait. They later had problems in their marriage. No believers can overcome sin by keeping the laws. It is death of self and a total surrender to Jesus and a commitment to God to live a holy life for Him that counts in God's eyes. Legalism kills.

EGW said, Why have I not claimed to be a prophet?-Because in these last days many who boldly claim that they are prophets are a reproach to the cause of Christ; and because my work includes much more than the word "prophet" signifies. . . . To claim to be a prophetess is something that I have never done. If others call me by that name, I have no controversy with them. But my work has covered so many lines that I can not call myself other than a messenger.-The Review and Herald, July 26, 1906.

And if they have done good enough, they believe they'll be saved by grace because their works will have shown that they love God. If they turn away from the sabbath after having learned about it, they do not believe they can or will be saved. Any adventist can critique this message and share with me if they feel anything is wrong, be prepared for a response as to why I say each and every one though.

Although you're not a Seventh-day Adventist, you had lifted a passage about the New Moon Festival from an SDA source titled "Should We Observe the Levitical Festivals?: A Seventh-day Adventist Perspective - Part 1." As you're fully aware, Adventists only observe the 7th day Sabbath & thus they would argue that all the other Levitical festivals are obsolete.

Iraidushka - The Bible & Talmud never touched on Sabbath observance in the polar regions but due to human rationalization, a Messianic Jew may keep six 24-hour periods as working time followed by a 24-hour Sabbath rest during polar nights or polar days. Early Christians were mostly Jewish converts who still kept the Sabbath. Sunday observance was already initiated in the early 2nd century as evidenced in the writings of Ignatius, Barnabas & Justin Martyr.

I find that going to church helps since the atmosphere helps me clear my mind and focus on God but I don't have to go. How you choose to observe your Sabbath depends on you. The Sabbath is just like any of the other ten commandments, we should follow them because they are our God given guideline on how we should live our lives. Keeping the Sabbath can help us be saved so it is a factor but not the DETERMINING factor. Giving yourself to God and accepting Jesus are the only way to be saved.

@Myhopeisinhim It was in the mid 1950's when Presbyterian scholar and pastor Dr. Barnhouse got a letter from an Adventist, Toby Unruh, praising him on his sermon about salvation by grace alone. Barnhouse was puzzled as he thought SDAs preached salvation by grace PLUE keeping the law and good works. Barnhouse's friend Baptist scholar Walter Martin produced SDA written material which seemed to refute Unruh so they decided to have a series of meetings with SDA leaders and thus the book came out.

Respond to this video... When Gabriel explains he starts with the kingdom of Medo Persia, the goes to Greece. He then goes on to Rome. Notice in 7 and in Daniel 2, they are familiar kingdoms. There is the image of the kingdoms in 2. There are the 4 beast in 7. In Daniel 8 it begins with Medo Persia to Rome again, with a little more detail.

@Myhopeisinhim The Adventist Church allowed the book Questions on Doctrine to go out of print because so many conservative Adventists hated the book and found it to depart from Adventist teaching. A few years ago, the book was republished but again dozens of "traditional" Adventist pastors and lay people attacked the book and were very upset that the denomination brought back the book. So it is difficult to find but is online. It answered questions from a Baptist and a Presbyterian scholar.

Iraidushka, Paul wanted to preach to the Jews first about Jesus Christ and "by Him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses"(read in full what Paul preached in Acts 13:16-41) and the BEST place & time for him to do so was in the synagogue on the Sabbath when the Jews (plus some Gentiles) were gathered there.

Possibly Jonah 2:6 (NIV) implied that Jonah did experience death: "To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, Lord my God, brought my LIFE UP from the pit." So, "brought my life up" could refer to a resurrection from literal death.

I'm an seventh day adventist member, I believe that the only way to be saved is to give your life to Jesus. I strongly believe that we are not saved by what we do. But I also believe that the real sabbath day is the 7th day of the week as the only one God gave us to worship him. There are two ways to worship God. Our way or his way you decide

Not sure if I am going to explain myself well, but here goes: To be saved you have to give yourself to God and accept Jesus as your savior. As a result of doing this you'll keep the laws as best you can, (because even though yes you might fall because we are human, but God will always help pick ourselves back up). so since one of those laws is to keep the Sabbath, you'll try hard to keep it because you love him. There are plenty of people who follow the laws/rules and they won't be saved because

I believe that I can be saved only thru Jesus Christ. What worries me is that, Am I doing things right in His sight? Why should I be comparing myself to others to see my worth (or unworthiness)? Should I be looking only to His promised grace? I believe that only Christ can save me and I won't let others put me in the losing end. I believe then that my becoming an instrument to inspire others to continue their faith in Christ is a great calling.

@jonathanbaby90 Please permit me to ask a few questions to see if we can find some common ground with chapter 8, without interpretation: 1. Does chapter 8 speak of a little horn? 2. Does this little horn set up an abomination and stop the dailies? 3. Does the chapter say that these events will last 2300 day? Lets just keep it simple for now, yes or no answers should suffice.

@boblackey1 Hey there:) My brother has his phd in sub atomic physics, and has worked on the particle accelerators. Do you mind if I ask if there is anything inparticular in science that causes you to question? I wasn't an sda personally, but I have a close friend who is sda and more often than not when we get together we talk about the bible and prophecy etc. I've also had the opportunity to read the writings of Ellen White, and also talk with others on here to garner a decent understanding

Iraidushka:The feast of the Firstfruits is on 16th Nissan because it occurs 50 days before Pentecost. Lev 23:15-16:"From the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, count off seven full weeks.Count off fifty days up to the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to the Lord." If you check up a Jewish calendar, you will see that Pentecost falls on Sivan 6 which is 50 days from the feast of the Firstfruits that falls on Nissan 16th.

Iraidushka: Since you have been keeping the 7th day Sabbath rest all this while (just like the Israelites had done so ever since the 4th commandment was given at Sinai), have you never rested yet and that's why God had to speak about another day in which a rest still remains for the people of God? To declare that what remains for the people of God is the weekly Sabbath is to declare that what Joshua failed to lead Israel into was the weekly Sabbath.

Iraidushka: If 14th Nissan was Wednesday, please show me how you were able to calculate that the feast of the FirstFruits fell on 21st Nissan which you believe was Sunday (i.e. the first day of the week). And we'll get back to my question about Pentecost later.

In my earlier comment I said, 'What wrong having discussions on Bible topics on the Sabbath when Paul did that every sabbath?" By this I meant that it was okay for him to do so. Jesus said, "For the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath" which shows that He's more important than the Sabbath. In Matt 11:28-30 Jesus said that He would give us the "anapauō" rest instead of asking us to continue to get the "shabbathown" rest by keeping the 7th day Sabbath.

I'd also like to mention that by the time we die our destintion is set. When we die our names have already been written in the book or not. The decision has already been made. You receive his seal, the Holy spirit in this life. This is why God could declare that we'd sit down with abraham, isaac and Jacob in the kingdom. Why jesus could tell...

@bradq I understand the confusion being that there are so many different churches out there. You'll want to find the one you feel most closely resembles the scriptures but also with the knowledge that we are all still students of the scriptures so to speak and continually learning. The best way to find a church is to familiarize yourself with the bible that way you are able to test the churches and see if they believe the bible or have been deceived by false visions.

@adventist11 Your absolutely right. One does not keep the Sabbath to be saved anymore than one does not murder to be saved. It is because we are saved, because God has given us His infinite love, that we desire to spend uninterrupted time with him. Similarly, it is because a man loves his wife that he wants to devote his time to her, free from distraction and occupations. It's rather funny that some say Sabbath-keeping is a work, when it is meant to be a day free from work. How ironic!

I must apologize that I had earlier made a mistake by saying that 14th Nissan never fell on a Wednesday but indeed it did between AD26 - AD36. In Biblical times, was a day regarded as a literal 24-hour period? Lev 7:16-18(NIV) :”… the sacrifice shall be eaten on the day he offers it, but anything left over may be eaten on the next day.Any meat of the sacrifice left over till the third day must be burned up."
