That’s what chess is all about, one day you give a lesson to someone and the next day someone will give you a lesson.

It's very good to see male and female players in the same section. Hopefully this can help to decrease the rating gap between the two categories.

The rating gap reflects the skill gap.
@cattycats4
@cattycats4 3 сағат бұрын
@@ClarkPotter not really, it reflects that women have lower rating because of all the women only tournaments, they gain less rating points because they arent playing against the strongest players by rating. however Judit Polgar proved beyond any doubt that with the right teaching and dedication even a genetically unremarkable person can potentially get into the top ten players in the world or at least become a superGM. Judit was not a super prodigy, a lot of the top ten out of the men were prodigies and she was still able to get to a level that meant she could win against them every now and then, proving beyond any doubt that there really is no gap between the genders, only a history of a male dominated game by popularity and social conditioning. Once a woman who is a child prodigy decides to play chess instead of rocket science we will absolutely see women compete for the open world championship. However women only tournaments absolutely stifle this and hold that potential back. How many black people do you see compete for Olympic swimming medals? it doesnt mean they are potentially worse at swimming its just not popular. Judit is undoubtedly one of the most important chess players in the last 100 years if not the most important. Not many if any women players play like Judit used to, she had Bobby Fischer as a teacher and would play against strong male opponents very often. If women only tournaments didnt exist there would be far more 2650+ rated women instead of the crop of 2500+ that currently exists, their potential is far greater than their rating suggests but cannot be realized until they play against the best players.

@@ClarkPotterSo, wouldn't that gap decrease by playing the more invested/better players? I see logic evades you😂 As do the women😅
