im obsessed with icky... the theme for this mv is the infamous "backroom". budget-wise, bm was very honest in saying getting acquired by rbw is so good cause they have a lot of money to fund them. i say investing in a great talent like kard is worth every penny.

The horror kind of vibe u got from the music video is accurate cuz its actually a backrooms/liminal spaces concept. Its been blowing up in the horror scene especially in gaming in the last couple of years and its such a unique feel and concept compared to other horror genres

@@mariagoesproI think it’s really just because a lot of people want their favs to win and there’s nothing wrong with that but popularity really does overrule talent especially when a lot of big groups comeback with songs that aren’t good but they still get wins because they have a lot of fans. You hear songs like KARD ‘icky’ which is PHENOMENAL (and I’m not even a KARD fan) but their songs are SO good- they haven’t gotten their first win yet. The competition is at an all time high when they release so it’s kind of hard competing against people who are huge and you’re only popular overseas :( it’s so unfortunate.

I’m a fan of KARD from pre-debut that kind of waned away in the middle and this is my favourite Title track and mv since their debut. I feel like in the middle they got lost trying to recreate similar songs but this highlighted what makes KARD unique and played to all their strengths. I’m super stoked for their future and the only gripe I have is that this song doesn’t have a English version, as I think it could have brought in casual western listeners.

100% agree about the way everything came together- this is the new standard for Kard. Even if they didn’t get the win, maybe their success will lead to the formation of other co-ed groups. Before this they released Without You and it wasn’t presented as a pre-release and there was no information about this mini album. And Without You felt really like a low-budget music video, so I was worried, because since RBW acquired DSP Media, they had their previous mini album with Ring The Alarm and since the comeback was really hyped up with words like: “re:start, re:debut etc”, it got maybe overhyped and it didn’t live up to it. So when they came back just with a digital single Without You, I started to feel like they didn’t really have to renew they contracts… But now I am surprised, shocked and GLAD! Icky and its music video is amazing!!

This song is so nasty and I *love* it! The music video does a good job of balancing it. It complements the lyrics without being too hot or lukewarm. The lyrics are already crazy hot, and I think the direction they went with the video was good. Plays on it just enough.

I think my only small nitpick is that, for me personally, i think the scene with them in the hallway with the columns was just ok and sometimes not that great. In general the background comes off as kind of flat and sometimes they werent really composited that well so comes off as a little jarring compared to the rest of the mv wich i thought was edited (lighting/color corecting/shadows etc) really well. But otherwise I love the song and over all the mv was really cool as well.
