Some facts about this whole comeback and MV. 1. The MV is about the Truman Show, GD even dressed exactly like what Jim Carey wore in the film. Note: Power MV is about how he passed his own Truman Show now and he is feeling happy again as he is, he embraced GD and KJY with everything that comes with it (Übermensch concept), the gossips, the priviledges and kind of stuffs. While the KJY 2017 album was basically about how GD realized and found himself (KJY) that he is trapped in a Truman Show (He has been in the industry since 4-5yo and being GD all the time). However, that was his own Truman Show, which is directed by GD/KJY himself, he created his own misery and suffering from his success, kinda mindfuck and sad, that's why loneliness was the actual theme. 2. Everything that showed in the MV is related to GD and his journey. "Ü" symbolizes of his own Übermensch concept, a human that has freed himself from his own human miseries and has found his own solitude. The hood people remind us his 2010 MAMA performance and anonymous people who can be good or bad, the Roll Royce is a flex because he owns one (He sit reversed, looking back recognizing his own journey, in flower seat while the car still moves forward with blue sky outside towards flower road (happiness)), the small car reminds us of CRAYON, the blocked room with caution looks like the police introgation room (from last year witch hunt on him), the barber shop/salon and old people reminds us FXXT IT mv, the ticket/photobooth with some clown attributes inside reminds us of Coup D'Tat and clownery that media used on him, the news room are basically media always witch hunt GD with false narrative and everything he does is breaking news, also at 1:37 there is a glasses on the table and that's the exact same glasses he wore during the police introgation last year (kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnOVco1nYq14epI), the train wagon dance part reminds us Michigo (both Michigo and Power are pre releases singles) and lastly, the map of the train stops are all the title of his new songs in the new upcoming album. 3. The rings that he wore in the MV are from Jacob & Co. and they costed $6,4M or 8,8 Billion KRW (yes 88, he has 3 btw lol). He also got a gift from them, a personal handmade PeaceMinusOne daisy diamond pin, there is only one in the world. 4. He made a comeback after 88 Months after the last album, in the last day of the 88th month. The song's duration 2:42, which means it's 2+4+2= 8. Note: for some who doesn't know what is about the connection between number "8" and GD, it's because GD was born in August 18, 1988 (Year of Dragon, which embodiments success and fortune) There are indeed some things that I might have missed.

if you guys don't know, GD is your idols' idol. he pioneered the lightstick, the crazy hair and styling, airport fashion, etc. bigbang are the kings of kpop, ever since they debuted in 2006. he's literally been around for almost 20 years and he's still smashing records. legend. amazing. fyi: red, i believe, is his favourite/signature colour, the same way his signature number is always 8 or 88 and his signature fruit is always the apple. fyi 2: 21:31 "pal pal" is also 88... his birth year and signature number. genius incarnate.

Another thing I heard quoted from Gdragon from a long time ago, and which I appreciate as a writer myself, is that he said BigBang didn't want to try follow the trends of what the public liked. He wanted to make songs for BigBang, and make the public LIKE it. He mentioned that they'd include some experimental songs in their albums, and was pleased when those also did well.

To add one major fan fact to PD’s speech about who G-Dragon is… YG Ent. made a trademark for the term “G-Dragon/GD” in 2003 (so like 3 years before the BIGBANG debut), because Yang Hyun Suk knew what he was going to be capable of and he saw the BIG POTENTIAL he had. Also… “Übermensch” might be the name of the album. It is a German word for Overman/Super-man, it is a concept in the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche.
@ms.chuisin77272 ай бұрын
YG trademarked GD's name because he already debuted as Gdragon before he debuted as a Bigbang members.

The way GD uses English throughout the song gives me a lot as a non-Korean speaker, and then listening to other youtubers I can understand that some of the ryming is with Korean words and causes double meanings. People who know both English and Korean get the full effect! And how the part where it sounds like he's saying "big bang" is actually just the way he says a Korean word and "bang!"--wow. Others say the "airirang" part is referring to the Korean wave internationally, like welcome to Korea everyone, which Big Bang is part of.

You said everything 2nd gen fans, VIPs feel. GD has ben through so much and over the years he just looked so healthy and peaceful. It didn't feel like he's chasing anything. That's why as much as we kept waiting, if GD decided not to comeback, it was fine - at least to me that is. But here he is, he is back. And I was the same, since he came out with a video updating about himself, I already thought that was a hint he's coming back but he wasn't so I was not expecting anything. I just don't anymore. The German prefix „über“ can have connotations of superiority, transcendence, excessiveness or intensity, depending to the word to which it is attached. „Mensch“ refers to a human being. Listening to GD also was what made me noticed that I had a thing for deep voiced or unique voice Kpop rappers. The line “Laughing End Money Donating Millions Grin” is actually referring to: - “Laughing End” - when GD was charged with illegal drug use recently, at the end of the investigation, as he walked out of the police station, he told reporters, “웃다가 끝 났어요“ which means, “We didn’t do much besides laugh,” referring to how he had nothing to hide and was innocent. - “Money Donating Millions” refers to the charity foundation he launched after he was cleared of the drug charges. He founded JusPeace to support artistic talent while combating drug abuse. I thought this line really showcased GD’s genius as a lyricist. The song is PACKED with clever references and puns flowing between Korean and English but they can be hard to fully appreciate without fluency in both languages. Could be a reason why it’s not well received by some K-pop fans but I don’t think GD would even care. He’s been through so much in his career already. At this point, he’s an “Übermensch” making music for the sake of artistic creation and this song is just an appetizer to the album that’s to come!

0:50 it's a German letter "ü", in the opening line in the background you can hear the word "übermensch" which is a concept from Nietzsche's philosophy (and I think that'll be the album's title as well 😅). It's pretty obvious when someone is familiar with classic philosophers. Also, he regularly posts different philosophy books he's reading or at least he used to, and his previous album had some philosophical influences as well 🖤

I say this with all the respect and love for international fans. Y’all gotta study Korean NOW if you want to enjoy what’s coming to you. I promise you. The satisfaction that comes from understanding his lyrics is ecstatic. There is nothing like it. It’s poetry, it’s magic, it’s pure art. You simply HAVE TO enjoy his word play. I don’t want you to miss out on life’s spectacular joy that is his lyrics.

The very first kpop song I ever heard was Lollipop by BigBang and 2ne1 I was hooked, I had already dipped my toe in k dramas before that but then I heard Lollipop at the same time I watched Dream High and, boom, I was all in and you couldn't shut me up with everyone I knew about Kpop and all the amazing talent. I have been so invested in Big Bang and G Dragon ever since, I am so proud and happy to have him back!

It's nearly impossible to stan another group once you discover Bigbang. The standards they set in their discography and live performances are just way too great. Idols today are too busy doing tiktok challenges instead of improve their live stages 🤣😲

I love that GD is away from YG because he truly can be free to do whatever he wants and it shows with how he’s posting full videos on IG before KZbin and now going to debut a new song with Taeyang and Daesung at MAMA ‘24 so soon after dropping POWER. I think he’s been itching to release his music and now he can. I honestly thought he was going to transition to staying behind the scenes as a producer only and occasional feature artist, like Teddy. No matter what he decides, as a 2nd gen fan, I am so glad he’s back and teaching the children why he’s King.

PD omg I had the same reaction! I knew he was coming back but didn't realise it had happened. I lost my shit at work! my team were worried about me hahahaha one of the things I realised I really missed about GD is that his music can be enjoyed on a surface level but there is always more. His music and play on words, just the sounds and concepts he comes up with makes you want to understand, and I just noticed this now watching you try to make sense. Like you I didn't have any expectations but I wasn't ready for how emotional I got when I heard his voice. it was like the feeling I expected to feel when we heard Still Life. I looked up Ubermensch "The Ubermensch is a creative individual who is not bound by the laws of others, including God." so basically GD emphasizing how powerful he is. Aaaah I'm so happy just to know he's back. Soooo excited to see what he creates. I'm also soooo happy to just know that GD, Daesung,Taeyang and TOP are creating and sharing with VIPs in their own way and projects. I really believed I would never see them again as artists, to hear any new music from any of them again.

Agreed about that part where even if he doesn't comeback, i can totally understand that and not blaming him even one bit. Just because the amount of things he's been through cause of the media and everything. 😢

We, the non speaking Korean need people like you to show us the meaning behind the Korean words used by GD, but I will point out some things I caught. The glasses on the reporter’s table seem to be the same that he wore on his way to the police station last year. At the entrance of the subway where one of the Kwon twin is sitting shows the song titles of his coming new album. At the beginning of the performance video which you haven’t seen yet on the walls around the toilet shows World Tour. Thank you always for your great reactions.

Huge Fan here since 2007. My first introduction with BigBang was Goodbye Baby. Listened a lot and Lie came after what a time back then. I was into hip hop rnb and only knew Se7en passion or TVXQ kpop style and BIGBANG was so my alley. Since then I followed them and their music guided me my whole life since I was 14. Whenever they come back I always thought what is gonna happen next what kind of music they will produce now. Cause GD came with such different beats lyrics freedom than other kpop artist. You got the iconics 2PM songs or Beast, Mblaq and etc. But BIGBANG man they always produced something new and Iconic. TAEYANG is my bias but without GD there would not be a YoungBae either. Watching the latest Zip Daesung made me cry. People hating on Idols a lot and GDs been so muc. Can’t we just try to enjoy what we have? Much love from Germany. Love listening to older fans. It feels like we all enjoyed their music since then Edit: yeah we 2nd gen wouldn’t be even mad, if he never comeback, but we kinda anticipated it I think. If you watch the zipdaesung part 2 you will get some hints about a bigbang comeback ;)

I also want to say that it was GD in particular that motivated me to tell everyone I know about kpop and my love for the music. GD said in one of the behind the scenes shows YG does that his dream was to bring kpop to the world and to show everyone how beautiful the Korean language is. He really loves the Korean language so much and it shows in everything he does.

Wanna add too that GD is the reason why kpop idol nowadays getting their brand deals for luxury fashion brand. If there's no GD and his expression for fashion, y'all faves won't get that bag honestly. Like GD got his brand deals because of his fashion statement, while your faves got that brand deals just BECAUSE

I'm so happy he's back. I've had a crush on him since when him, T.O.P and Park Bom came out with Forever With You. I was 8 then and Gdragon and Jonghyun from SHINee made my little heart flutter. I hold such a special place in my heart for both of them. Now that Jonghyun is gone I have just been waiting for Gdragon. 😭💕

Guy Bigbang is the most loved in korea and still has achievements that none other has ever surpassed, even when they've been in the military and inactive for too many years, even the now popular bts can't surpass them because the only thing they got is big hit/hybe buying them americanized music and that's why they raised to where they are, this with all the tagging bigbang in their videos and all the copying and dirty stuff they did. Now is coming all to light and we cheer cause many already knew of the shady things they did.
