Also Fangio was already as old as Hamilton is now (38) when the F1 world championship was first held and he still managed to win the title in 5 of the 7 full seasons he competed in (and got 2nd in the other 2). He also won those titles with 4 different constructors. It's really not that hard to decide... Fangio is still the GOAT.

Do you guys even know Formula 1 long enough to have seen Schumacher’s behavior during 05 with the shitty car he had to drive after dominating the championship with the fastest car for 5 years without a teammate to challenge him? How do you think Verstappen will react once another team develops the faster car and he stops winning after being dominating the sport for 5 years and winning (what should probably be) 5 world championships? Yeah, because Häkkinen, Räikkönen, Montoya and Alonso didn't exist... Schumacher and Ferrari are always talked about as they have been 'dominating' while actually they almost always really had to fight for their titles and not secure them mid-season like it is nowadays. And FIA changed their rules much more often, trying to 'stop' their 'dominance'. They just always managed to get the best out of each of the changes over and over again. 2004 they where surprised by their own car and that it was as good as it was.

E così mi restano i bei ricordi! Like 1916

Fangio went onto remain in the top 1o until the end of the 2013 session, some 54 years after the start of F1 championship and his first F1 championship winning race. He also won sports car races, so who is the Greatest Driver, Juan Manuel Fangio. He also 24 wins from 52 starts a % of wins to starts of 46.15% the highest win ratio, then any F1 driver. GREAT JOB!!! One of the coolest informational videos I have ever watched about FI racing!! It is ashame that for many years now REALISTICALLY ONLY 1 team has a shot of winning the championship and generally there is ONLY 1 driver capable of getting all those wins. So to me FI in Many recent years has been VERY SKEWED towards which ever team has the dominate technology. So in my Opinion, these standings are NOT a true reflection of who the best driver is. Not to say they are not a top driver BUT, when your team is so dominate for YEARS, it Truly is NOT an accurate portrayal of who is the Best Driver. That is a fact! That, in my Opinion is a Major reason why F1 SUCKS!!!!! There are MANY people (obviously myself included) who know the ONLY realistic chance I am going to see someone different win the race is 1st lap, 1st corner and Hope that guy gets in an accident (not getting hurt) unless that is your favoirte driver, lol. IF there is no accident, generally the race is Over. Yes, another driver can make a great move to position himself in the lead, however, it is only a matter of time before the dominate team's #1 driver disposes of this wanna be, lol. I do Not follow Indy car near as much as I follow F1 and not near as much as I used too. Cart/Champ Car etc. used to be my primary, however, when that Silver Spoon, Idiot t. george took over I stopped watching it for many years. Now that Mr. Roger Penske is in control over the last few years I have started paying more attention to Indy Car. YESSSS, Indy Car is a Spec Series. However, the Racing is ABSOLUTELY Fantastic. It literally blows the doors OFF of F1. The F1 head honchos look down at Indy Car saying they are this little spec series, but F1 has always looked down at Cart/Champ/Indy Car. But, as a Ex amateur open wheel driver and die hard open wheel fan for MANY years drivers/fans want to actually see RACING, LOL. F1 in MANY years has NEVER really offered that. Top team taken out in the 1st turn or being passed in the pits, not on track is All they can really offer. I LOVE F1 because I LOVE open wheel racing. But, Indy Car kicks F1's BUTT in Series vs Series which one offers true let the best driver win Racing!!! Literally ALMOST ANYONE in Indy Car can wind ANY race. LOL, ok my rant is OVER, Sorry - but some things Need to be said, lol. With F1 it is ALL about the money/technology and with that you will get exactly what we have been seeing for many years, ZERO COMPETITION!!! Not only do the fans lose big time, but the drivers lose big time as well. Many drivers careers will NEVER get to experience their full potential, not in this MONEY/TECHNOLOGY driven environment:(:(:(:( Thank You for the Very Cool video!

I have been thinking that the entire Merc regime has been a complete dull period, but maybe it was mainly the 2018-19. Not only the championship, but also the race tended to be boring due to overtakes being so difficult on the cars of the day.

I’m willing to bet that if you swapped cars with Max and any other driver, that driver would dominate… I totally understand that Max is a fantastic driver and totally respect him for that but there is something otherworldly going on with that car. Red Bull is going to have to have their own series soon because the other drivers are backing off with a red Bull shows up in their mirrors and that is not competition. How can Perez suck so badly and Max do so well? It doesn’t make any sense.

“Any other driver, that driver would totally dominate” Well Perez is driving the same car. And he failed to qualify for Q3 five times in a row. For context, Valterri Bottas never failed to reach Q3 during his five seasons at Mercedes. Now THAT was a dominant car. Max is just a dominant driver.

Schumacher was the greatest. Took Benetton to two championships. Left for a crap Ferrari team. Spend years working with them before going on to win another five championships with them. Retired. Came back to Mercedes and worked with them to bring yet more championships for Hamilton and Rosberg. Truly awesome driver.

I think this proves 2 thing's one the people who say Lewis is average don't know what they are talking about 22 wins in 7 years before ever having the best car and 2 just what the best car with the right driver does Michael was 3rd before the 5 with Ferrari than just cruised ahead than vettel pretty much the same with red bull then Lewis and now max who was nowhere near the top but since having a competitive car has won 25 races in 2 years

All respect to Hamilton but he had a championship contending car in 2007, 2008, and 2010, arguably in 2012 as well. Can't really compare that to Max who had to fight for wins in a non championship contending car during one of the most dominated eras of f1 and still managed to get 9 wins.

It is always hard to compare drivers. What about this though: Lewis has been teammate of the world champion. Rosberg was able to defeat Lewis and take the title while they were driving the same car. And I don't think anyone thinks Rosberg is among the 20 best drivers ever.

It's crazy for how long Hamilton is actually driving. It took so many years of dominance for him to achieve all those wins. Incredibly Verstappen managed to go on a historic run of wins in 2023. Only time will tell if and when Max will catch up to Lewis. Chances are that at some point Red Bull won't fight for wins anymore. People quickly seem to forget how dominant Mercedes was for many many many years, and look where they are now. It happens so quickly. I'm here for it, i love the sport as a whole. There are two things i currently want, that hamilton gets another championship title because he was robbed. So that he truly is the one and only legend as of now, and after that i want McLaren to win 2 or so championships in a row, i think Norris would be a great champion. I guess that with Hamilton won't happen, i don't think Mercedes will be able to recover until 2026 when the new regs hit. And after the short winning streak of McLaren i want Max to try and challenge for the legendary hamilton record but ofc fighting against McLaren and Ferrari. Actually Alonso would be a cool champion too. Or imagine something super outlandish happening, Stroll going on a winning streak xD

I'm not a Merc fan but I would also love for Hamilton to win an eighth but unless Mercedes pulls a miracle out of their ass it's honestly just not gonna happen :/ I do wonder how much longer he's going to keep racing because I really don't see anyone catching red bull until after 2026. Alonso is 42 so technically there's a chance Hamilton could keep going but who knows lmao. I'm pretty excited to see what Mclaren come up with considering their burst in performance. Also maybe an unpopular opinion but I think a driver as good as Max is honestly wasted when there's so little competition. I kind of hope his teammate can push him more next season (depending on who it will be).
