Unique footage of the Südschleife. Thanks for the upload! I visited several times the remains of this track. Nice to see a video, even it's a short one, of the heyday of the forgotten part of the Nürburgring.

schöne aufnhamen onboard, schade, keine ganze runde, bin selbst auch noch in den 60er jahren nord und südschleife mitgefahren (BMW TISA) und anfang der 70er selbst gefahren (GLAS 1300GT), da waren auch noch die hecken und gefährlichen ecken, wohingegen auf der Nordschleife schon alles geglättet war

For anyone who is interested the video actually starts at the beginning of the lap, the start of the video is on old nordschleife first corner (before it got changed to its current form), the road that goes off to the right at 00:09 is the nordschleife. Sorry a bit random but i am trying to research the track and piece together its layout

First section in the video takes you from the left that leads into the Sudkhere, onto the Sudchleife, under the bridge and down to the Brankekopf bends. It then cuts to the approach to Seifgen and the run to Bocksberg. Next up is the right hander at Mullenbach and the run up the bottom end of the Rassruck. Last shots are, I believe, overhead shots of the approach to Mullenbach and Mullenbach corner itself.

Ich habe gelesen, es handelt sich bei diesen Onboard-Aufnahmen um den Fahrer und späteren Motorsport-Kommentator Rainer Braun. Er sollte für VW Onboard-Aufnahmen aus dem Formel V machen. Da die Kamera sehr teuer war mußte er als letzter Starten und durfte niemanden überholen. Woran er sich nicht ganz gehalten hat... erst vor Start/Ziel ließ er sich immer wieder zurückfallen. Steht in seinem Buch "Hallo Fahrerlager".

Is this the only existing original footage of the Sudschleife? I've seen the memory-lane-runs on what still exists but if there is a full lap somewhere that would be awesome.
