Got these compressed face masks off shein once and mixed some lavender hydrosol, vegetable collagen and a hyaluronic acid serum. Never had any issue with the mixture but the mask??? My face was bright bright red it was crazy. If u want to make your own sheet mask maybe cut some medical gauze and don't buy cheap from unreliable sources🤡

Wow that’s scary! I imagine a paper (or whatever it is) face mask is almost like a tea bag. People who make tea always tell you that even the empty bags have harmful things added to it and infuse in your tea when you steep it. The mask was probably the same. I’m so sorry that happened. I know the whole situation probably had you fucked up when you looked in the mirror. 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩

Thanks for this informative video, I loved watching it. Toners and mists are some of my favorite things to make and use! And yes, I want to see a video about essences asap! ☺️
@TaraLeee2 жыл бұрын
They are fun to make especially since they are pretty easy to make 😊 I’m glad you wanna see a video on essences cause I’m obsessed with them now even though I’ve never even used one. Lol

The difference in toners are the amount of alcohol in each. The type of toners you are referring to that Dermatologists recommend is called a freshener. Fresheners can be used by dry skin or everyone. Toners can be used for normal skin to mostly everyone. Astringents should be used by oily skin clients, but carefully. The main purpose of these “toners” are to balance the skins pH and it also increases the porosity of the skin.
@TaraLeee Жыл бұрын
I talked about different toners with different alcohol content in the video during the wikipedia section of the video and then went on to say this is how "I: like to categorize them. I literally said in the video I don't use toners with alcohols so that automatically rules out all toners with alcohol for me, personally.

Your channel is extremely informative. This beginner series is just it. It makes formulating less daunting and scary. If you can please can you do a series on serums? Thank you Tara

Thanks for this Tara. I appreciate your hard work that goes into everything you do to inform us of the things we want to know and may be confused about. I personally would definitely love if you did an informative video about essences because they are definitely very interesting. My one question is are essences waters or what? I know you stated that they are part ferments and and filtrates but how are they categorized? Again, thanks for all you do, thanks for always responding when you have time and I can hardly wait for part 2!! Also, I LOVE your nails!! 🥰

Thank you so much!💗 I definitely wanna do a video on essences now. Mainly as an excuse to make them since I never have. Lol Essences are water or thickened water. They look identical to toners.

Hi TaraLee😁. I love your informative videos. This was a great one too. I am very interested in the differences in the hydrolyzed proteins and benefits. Can you please do a video about these? Also you mentioned hydrolyzed proteins as cationic, just to clarify, Does this mean they cannot be used in Shampoos made with anionic surfactants?

How in the gods names did I become unsubscribed. I was waiting for a new video and looked out of curiosity. Damn KZbin.

KZbin does that stuff! 🙄it’s so annoying. Remember to pop back over and check out my channel every once in while. I have people message me all the time saying they miss my videos, but I’m still uploading. So it seems that KZbin isn’t notifying a lot of people

I quite appreciate that you talked a lot about toner. There are some things that I haven't noticed before. And I think especially the knowledge about toners vs mists vs astringents vs essences is quite wonderful.
@bimifoluwaomopariola82022 жыл бұрын
Another differ between hydrosols and floral waters I've noticed is if it's not a true hydrosol it'll foam/lather a bit when shaken. This is because of the solubilisers used to dissolve the essential oil in water. True hydrosols won't foam when shaken.

Great video and so helpful. I had been searching and was going to check your channel and it was like you were reading my mind. Do I have to make sure the ph is 5.5 with the toner? Thank you for all that you do and share.

do you think I could do a toner recipe with jut some flower hydrolate (like rose/lavender) and 5% glycerine with maybe 1-5% micronized rice starch? I'm looking to get hydration and skin evening benefits of rice, obviously I would also use a preservative

I've been making my own toner for 15 years that includes castor oil. Recently, I swapped out the distilled water for aloe vera juice. So, I keep the toner in the fridge now. Is there a way to prevent the castor oil from separating? Should I make the recipe in a similar manner when making lotion using a water phase and oil phase with preservative?

Thank you so much! That lip mask is amazing! I’m not 100% sure at the moment what you would need, but I’m sure it’s more than just 1 ingredient that is giving it that gorgeous texture.
