Loved Robin Wright in The Princess Bride as well. 👑❤️
@lnl32372 ай бұрын
I first encountered Robon Wright on the soap "Santa Barbara" when she returned from her hiatus to film "The Princess Bride." She had to agree to come back to the soap for another year in order to do the film. Was worth the sacrifice. Her acting chops were apparent early on.

Good to see Tom & Robin, working together again. Happy 30th Anniversary to FORREST GUMP. Need to get Gary Sinise, Tom & Mykelti Williamson - together in a movie again.
@acreguy31562 ай бұрын
Agreed! Sinise is one of my all time favorite actors. He really shone in _Forrest Gump_ and _Apollo 13._
@toddvandell854 күн бұрын
@@acreguy3156 Gary actually did a very good yet surprisingly darker turn in The Green Mile with Tom. Talking about how this wonderful loving dog his family had forever just suddenly turned and attacked one of the children. He was saying that the problem wasn't that the dog attacked the child? It was that they as a family forgot that at the dog's core? It was always violent. It was always lethal. And that even though he buried it inside? The killer was always in him and had never died. [Spoiler Alert] And he was talking about the character of John Coffey as well, even though John wasn't the real murderer? Gary's character spoke of him as though he'd done it? Gotten a taste for killing? And could never go back to being anything other than that which was in his deepest character. That killer. He had tapped into it? And couldn't stop killing even if he wanted to. Gary Sinise was wonderful in the role. His character was 100% wrong about John Coffey? But a tremendous actor. He & Tom always have great chemistry on screen together. But. That said? Yes. All three in another movie together would be awesome. No argument from me about that.
@acreguy31563 күн бұрын
@@toddvandell85 Good stuff, Todd. There are some great actors and some not so great. You're absolutely right about the correct chemistry. If one actor can play off the next one seamlessly, it makes for an epic hit.

Great interview! Forrest Gump will always have a special place in my heart since I first saw as an elementary school kid. It happened to air on one of those golden oldies time slots where they showed old movies and parents used it to teach me about neurodiversity. Even the other cast members like Gary Sinise and Mykelti Williamson will be Lt. Dan and Bubba to me despite having watched a lot of their other work after FG.

I loved the awards; Oscars, Grammy's, BAFA, etc., etc. in the windows of the workshops and offices! I loved the movie set (full dress and makeup) cafeteria. I loved the stars/film staff who would stay close to Pinewood at the Bull Hotel (lovely place) and would have a chat with you at the bar. You do not get that experience in Hollywood.

I suspect that in hollywood the top actors often get first pick of the available movie scripts so one hand washes the other and if played well an actor can stay on top easier under this system and at Oscar time its likely that the top actors who star in the best movies win .an exception to this rule is tom cruise who despite being a top grossing actor rarely gets a mention or prize the only oscar nomination i recall was for born on the forth of july although i thought he was gift in Interview with one whom identifies as a vampire .but im sure he had plenty of noms over the years..
