"Forrest Gump Suite" by Alan Silvestri. // I had to find this out because the theme that begins at (0:51) is the most beautiful thing I have heard in a while -- it captures the story's poignancy and the vulnerability of the human heart. The sad theme from "My Dog Skip" also leaves me feeling like my heart will break. Alan Silvestri also knew how to score triumph (5:33).

It IS played in certain parts. In particular, when Forrest and Jenny marry (it's the song heard in the background). Part of it is also played the last time Jenny goes to Forrest's home (when he is cutting the grass and she walks out of nowhere up to him).

+Anand -- that is not an acceptable answer. It is not at the last part of the end credits. Besides, there are several themes that are played sequentially in a bigger suite. The last song listed here is "Against the Wind" by Bob Seger and Kenzo asked for the instrumental that plays during the end credits. Not song credits from the movie.
